How to fix the “506 error” in the Google Store?

The 506 error can occur on any device, on any user, and while downloading apps / games. She is one of the most boring and unbearable. For example, you download a game that is 1.2 GB in size, the download reaches completion, and … you see a 506 error with the message “Unable to install the application”.

Although this error is the most “nasty”, it is surprisingly resolved in a fairly typical and ordinary way. Let’s see them.

Method # 1 Clear Cache and Read Market App Data

  • Go to the “Settings” ofyour device.
  • Then go to “Applications”, “Application manager”or something similar. Different devices have different names.
  • Select the “All”tab .
  • Find the “Play Market” applicationin the list that appears .
  • Go to its settings and select the options “Clear cache” / “Delete data”.
  • You must perform the same actions with the services Google Playand Google Services Framework.

Usually after performing this method the 506 error should be fixed. However, if this did not happen, continue with the following paragraphs of the article.

Method # 2 Disable Flash Storage

  • Go to the “Settings”device again .
  • Then go to the “Memory”section .
  • In this section you will find the option “Remove SD card”.
  • After removing the flash drive, restart the Play Marketapp .
  • Now reconnect the flash drive in the same “Memory”section .

As usual, check for the 506 error . If your things are the same, go to the next method.

Method # 3 Adding a Google Account

  • Again, go to the “Settings” of the
  • Go to the “Accounts”section .
  • In the list that appears, select and delete all accounts associated with
  • Then open the Play Marketunder your data and try to download the problematic app.

It is worth saying that this method quite often fixes the problems of the users which cause the 506 error.

Method №4 Change the installation location of applications

  • Go to “Settings”.
  • Go to the “Memory”section .
  • Check the option “At the discretion of the system”.
  • Open the Play Market againto check for a 506 error.
  • If that hasn’t changed either, you can try installing the old APK and then updating it. Sometimes this method works. Be careful when downloading this APK file from external sources.
