To disable base operation in MLB The Show 21, simply go to your settings. You can do this during a game in the pause menu or when you are in the main menu in the upper right corner. Either way, it works.
Once you’re there, navigate to Batting and Baserunning, then press L2 / R2 on PlayStation or LT / RT if you’re on Xbox to switch to advanced settings containing the basic running options you have available to you.
After that, all you have to do is change the basic decisions from Assist to Auto. Auto will ask the CPU to make all the basic calls for you. This is because after hitting the ball in the game, your job is done and you just watch and wait for things to bounce your way.
