How to change the address of our home, work or study center in the Maps app

In the Maps app, in addition to our saved places of interest, we can establish favorite locations. These locations, such as our home, work, university, etc. They serve us so that, with a simple touch or a request to Siri, we obtain the directions, the estimated travel time and we can even communicate to others when we will arrive. For the system to work properly the address needs to be correct, so let’s see how to edit it .

Favorites in Maps, but with contact information

First of all, let’s see in which section we find this information within Maps , to locate ourselves. Both the address of our home, work or study center, as well as others that we may have added, are reflected in the Favorites section of the Maps app.

  1. We open the Mapsapp on our iPhone or iPad.
  2. In the lower information tab we tap on See allnext to Favorites .

Here we will find all our favorites. We can touch the Edit button if we want to reorder or delete some of them. Good. Here it is important that we make a distinction, we can only edit the address of the favorites that belong to the category of our work, study center or residence, the rest use the address of their location. To edit these addresses we have to go to the Contacts app .

  1. We open the Contactsapp on our iPhone or iPad.
  2. We touch our name at the top of the list.
  3. We click Edit.
  4. We add or edit our address information.
  5. We press OK.

It is important that, when we edit the address, we touch the label to its left and choose between home , work or school so that the information is correctly reflected in the Maps app. Bear in mind that we can define more than one address per category .

IN APPLESFERA

The first rumors of iOS and iPadOS 15 arrive: improvements in the battery, redesign of the Music app and widgets on the iPad screen

Nothing else. This is the information the Maps app will use to show us our favorite locations. So the next time we want directions to our home, for example, we will only have to tap on the favorite that appears when we open the Maps app. Or even easier: “Hey Siri, take me home.”
