Future

A multi-million dollar plan has been proposed to double the size of the departure hall, among other reasons because Prestwick claims to be ready to receive the new Airbus A380. Consideration is being given to replacing the current arrivals and departures building with another two-story building: one of them would be used for departures, and the other for arrivals. It would also allow expanding the number of seats for airplanes from 6 to 12. This process could take up to 18 months. Furthermore, the car park and the highway outside the airport are also being remodeled.
