Bremen airport

History

Bremen Airport was founded in 1913 when the Bremen Senate granted the Aviation Association official permission to use the site as an air base.

In 1920 , the Dutch company KLM launched a flight from Amsterdam with stops in Bremen and Hamburg to Copenhagen.

In 1945 it was under the mandate of the American troops although it returned to power of the city in 1949 . During the 1950s, flights to New York and Rio de Janeiro were added .

In 1989 the airport passed the millionth passenger for the first time. The Bremenhalle inside the airport houses a small museum on aviation and space exploitation, showing the Junkers W33 Bremen plane and the first space laboratory module.

Transport

Bremen Airport has various means of transportation to get to the city or to the interior of its facilities.

By car

From destinations such as Hannover , Hamburg and Osnabrück you can follow the A1 and take the Arsten exit. To get there from Bremerhaven follow the A27, take the Freihafen exit and then follow the B6, and from Oldenburg there is the B75

By train

Bremen Airport does not have its own train station, so you must go to the city’s train station, there you can take tram 6, which has a frequency of 10 minutes and the journey takes about 20 minutes. , costing 1.95 euros.
