Gijón Aquarium

Gijón Aquarium . It is located on the Paseo de la Playa de Poniente, in the urban area of Gijón , Spain , it was inaugurated by the authorities on June 9 and opened its doors to the public on June 10 , 2006 . It is managed by the company Coutant Aquariums .

Description

It has 2,000 m² of exhibition, in which there are 60 fresh and salt water aquariums, an auditorium for events, an educational classroom of about 100 m², and a recovery area for marine mammals and reptiles .

Within the 60 tanks there are some 250 species of animals including fish, invertebrates, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and birds . Stand sharks between 1.5 and 2 meters long arrived directly from Florida . In total, the number of copies is around 5000 individuals; However, with the passage of time and the complete maturation of the systems, it is expected to reach 7000 to 8000 copies.
