Secrets and clues

Get Even is a game focused mainly on exploring the scenarios, which is why we will find a large number of collectibles that we can collect. Far from being a mere anecdotal element, all of these will offer us vital information to successfully complete our investigation and discover the truth about what is happening.

In this way we will find three different types of “collectibles”:

ADVERTISING

  • Clues: To find them we will have to scan with our mobile phone certain places and objects of interest, such as a table, a corpse or a painting. To know where these tracks are we have to look at our mobile, which will indicate with green lights how close or far we are from a possible track.
  • The mobile has four green pilots, so the more lit there are, the closer we will be. Once we find the object in question, it will be highlighted on the phone screen with a square around it, indicating that we have to square the camera with it and press the scan button to obtain the clues that are hidden there.
  • Documents: Throughout the adventure we will find a huge amount of text documents that we can obtain almost anywhere. These include things like newspaper clippings, emails, private notes, and so on.
  • Audio recordings: On our journey we will also find a good number of recorders with interesting conversations (or monologues) full of juicy information

Each chapter has a certain number of collectibles to obtain , which are then collected and organized in our mental refuge, where we can see the percentage obtained in each of them and those that we are missing.

Those that we get will appear on the board corresponding to the memory to which it belongs so that we can consult it again. It should be noted that here we will see the tracks linked to each other by lines, which will allow us to better understand and order the events, in addition to reaching new conclusions.

The mobile

The mobile phone will be our main tool throughout the adventure , since with it we can analyze clues, solve puzzles, orient ourselves, receive messages and use it to help us locate our enemies more easily. The different apps it has are the following:

Scanner : The scanner, as its name suggests, will help us scan and analyze different places on the stage to obtain clues. We will know how far or close we are to one depending on the number of green lights that light up on our mobile. The more lights on, the closer we will be (up to a maximum of four).

In addition to this, it has an additional function, since there are some places where we can “create” structures and objects such as boxes to use as covers, although in the same way we can eliminate them to leave our enemies sold and without places to hide.

To do this, simply point the mobile to the place in question and press the scan button. We will know if we can carry out this action because when pointing the mobile towards the indicated place it will indicate it to us with four white lights and on the camera screen we will see that there are things that do not correspond to what we can observe with our eyes.

Messages : Here we can check the messages that come to us from other characters.

UV light : Thanks to this app we can use an ultraviolet light flashlight, thus allowing us to see much better in dark places, although its true utility is to show us things that are invisible to the human eye, so it is a very useful application to solve puzzles and find the clues that give us the solutions for them.

Map : Here we can consult the map of the place where we are, which will help us to orient ourselves. Note that here our position is also shown with an arrow, that of our enemies with red dots (as well as their range of vision) and the places on the stage with distortions that we can use to create or eliminate objects (they are indicated in the form of white dots ).

Thermal vision : Thanks to this app we can track different heat sources, something that will be very useful for combat (since we will see the enemies very clearly) and to solve some puzzles that require, for example, that we follow some cables hidden.

Memories : With this app we can quickly and briefly consult some key data of the argument. The number of memories will increase as we progress through the story.

The corner bender

The Corner Bender is Get Even’s main and most distinctive weapon . Thanks to it, we will be able to face the combats and shootings that come our way in a very different way from what we are used to seeing in other action games, so it is convenient to quickly get used to its use.

Thanks to him, after and as its name indicates, we can point our weapon by making it bend towards one direction or another , so that we will have the possibility of aiming and shooting without the need to expose ourselves by leaving the coverage in which we are. . Its use is quite simple, since, if, for example, we are in a cover looking to the left, it will be enough for us to poke the weapon around a corner and activate the Corner Bending towards the direction we want to shoot.

In this way, even if our hero is looking to the left, the weapon will be pointing to the right and we can easily eliminate all the rivals that come to us from that position.

Another of its outstanding characteristics is that we can equip it with various types of weapons , such as rifles or pistols, so that we can use the Corner Double with several of them (although not all). To do this, it will simply be enough to pick up the weapon from the ground so that our character equips him with the Corner Bend automatically if it is compatible.

Decision system

Get Even has a system of decisions and consequences that is a bit outside the usual norm , since here we will not be faced with clear choices in which we will have to choose A or B.

In this game, our actions will be the real triggers for the direction that the story takes , so our way of acting will end up determining something very important in the main plot.

Therefore, overcoming an area by hitting bare chest shots can have very different consequences than if we play them in stealth, although in the same way pressing the wrong button, paying attention to other characters or not, or solving a puzzle by brute force Instead of how it should be resolved, it will have one impact or another on the story.
