Flixster
In times when web 2.0 requires and produces more personalized and specific content, Flixster emerged. The particular thing about this thematic social network compared to other famous and well-known social networks, is that it is only dedicated to a single topic: movies .
The site was founded by Joe Greenstein and Chari Saran in 2007 . Flixster was acquired by Warner Bros. on May 4 , 2011 .
He has developed applications for various social networking sites. These apps have many of the same features as the main Flixster site, such as ratings, comments, user-created quizzes. Also, each application and each social networking site or mobile application are completely free, allowing more users to download your application. The first of these applications was launched in June of 2007 on the platform Facebook . In March of 2008 an application for Myspace followed, which had 3,923,506 users in July2008. This made it the second most popular application on the Myspace platform. In addition to the Facebook and Myspace apps, Flixster has also developed apps for Bebo and Orkut .
In August 2008, Flixster launched an iPhone application , which allows users to access movie listings , reviews, and trailers. Also, this iPhone and iPod from Flixster app is the number one movie app yet. A gadget for iGoogle with similar functionality was launched in October 2008. Flixster has also launched applications for mobile phones Android , Windows Phone , and phones BlackBerry .
In August 2010 , Flixster reached 20 million mobile app downloads and has ranked as the top movie app on the iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry.
