Anti-cheat bug, crashes, low FPS and more
For almost 30 years, every autumn a new license plate part of the main football simulator has been released. The launch of FIFA 23 went relatively smoothly, but there were still a number of technical issues, some of which have already been fixed. We have collected proven solutions for the rest.
Which computer is needed for FIFA 23
The official system requirements are for 1080p (1920×1080) resolution only. We’ve reviewed the benchmarks of the game and added recommendations for a stable 60 FPS at upscaled 1440p (2560×1440) and 4K (3840×2160) resolutions.
Official minimum system requirements (1080p @ 30 FPS):
- Operating system: Windows 10 (64-bit only!).
- Processor: Intel Core i5-6600K / AMD Ryzen 5 1600.
- Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 / AMD Radeon RX 570.
- RAM: 8 gigabytes.

FIFA 23 won’t launch on Windows 7
The game is not designed to run on Microsoft operating systems older than Windows 10. In addition, a 64-bit version of the OS is required.
Anti-cheat issue / error “EA anti-cheat service encountered an error. Please restart the game. (57)”
Completely close Steam or another launcher, and then restart with administrator rights (check the appropriate box in the shortcut properties).
Can’t connect to EA servers / No connection / FIFA 23 won’t connect to servers
There may be a problem with the game servers. You can check their status here .
Co-op not working in FIFA 23 / unable to connect to a friend
Both players need to update the game to the latest version. Also, problems can arise if you play on different platforms.
Resolution not changing in FIFA 23
This error can occur if screen scaling is enabled in Windows. You can compensate for this in the following way:
- Locate the exefile in the game folder.
- Go to properties and go to the “Compatibility”tab .
- Click the Change High DPI Settingsbutton .
- In the “Override scaling mode…”option , select “Application” .

Update your video card drivers
Visit the graphics card manufacturer’s website:
- NVIDIA GeForce :The site will select the appropriate drivers for you. Just click “Search” and then “Download Now”. After the download is complete, run the downloaded file and follow the instructions in the installer.
- AMD Radeon :Scroll down to Search for your product and select your graphics card under Graphics. Click the Submit button. On the page that opens, click LMB on your version of Windows and click “Download”. Once the download is complete, run the downloaded file and follow the instructions in the installer.
Important: Be sure to restart your computer after updating your drivers.
Turn on high performance for graphics card
For NVIDIA GeForce owners:
- Open the NVIDIA Control Panel by right-clicking on the desktop.
- Select Manage 3D Settingsfrom the list on the left.
- Switch to the Software Settingstab in the main part of the screen and select FIFA 23 from the drop down list under Select a program to configure “ (if the game is not in the list, then add the appropriate button next to it).
- In the list below, find the function “Power management mode”and switch it to “Preferred mode of maximum performance” .
For owners of AMD Radeon and AMD processors:
- Open Radeon Settings by right– clicking on the desktop.
- Go to the “System”section .
- In the “Switchable Graphics”category, set the graphics card with “maximum performance” as the main one.
- Click “Accept”.

Sound problems in FIFA 23
Launch Sound Troubleshooter by right -clicking on the volume icon in the lower right corner of the desktop. Follow the instructions of the program.
FIFA 23 freezes / crashes / DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG error / black screen
Perhaps the problem is overheating of the video card. Check if the fans of her cooling system are blocked by adjacent wires. If everything is in order with this, then try resetting the overclocking: go to the MSI Afterburner application and click the Reset button (if such a program is not installed, then the video card most likely did not overclock).
Gamepad (joystick) not working in FIFA 23 on Steam
Try deleting the device in Device Manager and restarting your computer. If that doesn’t help, run the controller setup on Steam and manually set the Xbox Controller mode.
