The long-awaited MMORPG from Amazon is finally out of Early Access! New World offers to plunge into the era of American colonization, but in an alternative fantasy world.

The launch of the novelty did not go entirely smoothly. Players faced huge queues on the server, as well as various technical problems. In this article, we have collected solutions for common problems with New World.

What kind of computer do you need for New World (system requirements)?

We studied the tests of the game on different hardware in different resolutions and came to the conclusion that the official system requirements are not far from the truth. But they lack recommendations for playing at 1440p and 4K – we added them based on the tests we studied.

Official minimum system requirements (1080p @ 30 FPS, low preset):

Operating system:Windows 10 (64-bit only!).
Processor:Intel Core i5-2400 / 4-core AMD equivalent
Video card:NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 / AMD Radeon R9 280.
RAM:8 gigabytes.

Official Recommended System Requirements (1080p @ 30 FPS, High Preset):

Operating system:Windows 10 x64.
Processor:Intel Core i7-2600K / AMD Ryzen 5 1400.
Video card:NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 / AMD Radeon R9 390X.
RAM:16 gigabytes.

New World won’t start on Windows 7

The game is not designed to run on operating systems older than Windows 10. In addition, a 64-bit OS is required.

New World won’t start / freezes on startup / black screen / vcruntime140_1.dll error / error code 23

Download and install RuntimePack . This is a complete set of all the libraries you need to run games.
Check the integrity of the game files on Steam:
start Steam;
go to the “Library” section;
right-click on the name of the game (New World) in the list on the left and open the properties;
in the “Local files” tab, click “Check the integrity of game files”;
wait for the process to complete.

Anti-cheat problems in New World / error 00000018h / Error code: 30005/30007 / VROM read error / fatal error / game crashes

Disable all programs running in the background.

No connection / failed to connect to servers / connection error / does not enter the game New World

The game servers are overloaded or technical work is underway. Just try again after a while (sometimes the next day). You can find out the status of the servers here .

Not enough memory error in New World

Your PC is out of RAM. The best solution is to increase the amount of RAM to at least 8 gigabytes. Increasing the paging file probably won’t help. Also, be sure to close your browser before launching any game. Especially if it has a large number of open tabs.

Resolution does not change in New World

This error can occur if screen scaling is enabled on Windows. You can compensate for this as follows:

Find the NewWorld.exe file in the game folder.
Go to properties and go to the “Compatibility” tab.
Click the Change High DPI Settings button.
In the option “Override the scaling mode …” select “Application”.

Error 0xc0000001 / 0xc0000005 in New World

This is a problem with Windows system files. Some of them can be damaged. Perform a system restore or reinstall Windows. To check and repair damaged system files, open a command prompt (Windows key + R) and enter the command “sfc / scannow” (without quotes).

Error 0xc000007b in New World

Reinstall or update your graphics card drivers. It is advisable to do a clean install to reset unsuccessful settings.

New World slows down / lags / low FPS / error “minspec failed”

Update your graphics card drivers

Visit the video card manufacturer’s website:

NVIDIA GeForce . The site itself will select the appropriate drivers. Just hit Search and then Download Now. After the download is complete, run the downloaded file and follow the instructions of the installer.
AMD Radeon . Scroll down to Search for your product and select your graphics card in the Graphics section. Click the “Submit” button. On the page that opens, click LMB on your version of Windows and click “Download”. When the download is complete, run the downloaded file and follow the instructions of the installer.

Important: Be sure to restart your computer after updating your drivers.

Enable high performance for your graphics card

For NVIDIA GeForce owners:

Open NVIDIA Control Panel by right-clicking on the desktop.
Select Manage 3D Settings from the list on the left.
Switch to the “Program Settings” tab in the main part of the screen and select New World from the drop-down list under “1. Select a program to configure “(if the game is not in the list, then add the corresponding button next to it).
In the list below, find the Power Management Mode function and switch it to Maximum Performance Mode Preferred.

For AMD Radeon and AMD processor owners:

Open Radeon Settings by right-clicking on the desktop.
Go to the “System” section.
In the “Switchable Graphics” category, set the “Maximum Performance” graphics card as the main one.
Click “Accept”.

Sound problems in New World / audio clicks / audio wheezing

Open the Windows Control Panel.
Go to the Hardware and Sound section.
Open your sound settings.
Select the default device (there should be a green checkmark next to it) and go to its properties with the button below.
In the “Advanced” tab select the default format “24 bit, 48000 Hz”.
If it doesn’t help, then lower it to “16 bit, 44100 Hz”.

New World game has stopped working / error “DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG”

Perhaps the problem is overheating of the video card. Check to see if the fans of her cooling system are blocked by adjacent wires. If everything is in order with this, then try resetting the overclocking: go to the MSI Afterburner application and press the Reset button (if such a program is not installed, then the video card most likely did not overclock).
