Essay on Eid ul Fitr: India is a country full of many cultures, religions and castes. Here Hinduism is more in number than other religion but still people of all religions live together with brotherhood and participate in each other’s happiness. There are many festivals in Hindu religion, in which the whole country celebrates in unison.

In the same way, people of Muslim community also celebrate many festivals freely, which fills our nation with colors and charm of happiness. You will not see such a scene in any other country.

Among the many festivals of Muslim religion, this is one of the major festivals which the Muslim people as well as people of Hindu faith eagerly look forward to, because on this day they are given a feast on behalf of the Muslim brothers to feed them delicious biryani. This happy festival is called Eid-ul-Fitr, a festival promoting brotherhood and praying for Barkat.

Today I am presenting an essay on Eid ul Fitr for you, through which you will get to know many things related to Eid. By writing an article on Eid, I mean that all of you can know the importance of this special festival.

Eid is a special festival celebrated by the Muslim community, which is a festival to express the feeling of happiness, beauty and mutual sweet meeting. It is also called Eid-ul-Fitr, a word derived from Arabic which means ” festival of ending the fast” i.e. “festival of fasting” .

Eid means happiness, joy, feast and celebration and Fitr means the end of fasting. The word Fitr also has another meaning which originates from the word Fitrah which means begging.

The end of fasting is called because the month of Ramadan comes before Eid . In this holy month, Muslims keep fast for 30 days, in which they take a small fast before the sunrise and keep fast for the day and after sunset, the fast is opened by reading Namaz. Opening of fasting is also called iftari.

Muslim people believe that by observing fast during the month of Ramadan, their self is sanctified and during this time the prayers of the namaz and the Quran close the doors of hell and open the doors of heaven.

After 30 days of sacrifice and penance, when the moon of Eid appears in the sky on the last day of the month of Ramadan, Eid is celebrated on its second day. The festival of Eid is the most important religious festival of Muslims around the world, this festival is celebrated with gaiety in Puri world including India.

Eid is a strong thread of social harmony and love, this festival is a reflection of the traditions of the religion of Islam. Its importance for a daily person can be gauged from his thankfulness to Allah.

Why is Eid ul Fitr celebrated?

Just as there is a particular reason behind celebrating festivals like Holi, Diwali, Dussehra, in the same way why do we celebrate Eid, there is a special reason behind it. Prophet Hazrat Muhammad had won the war of Jung-e-Badr. Everyone’s mouth was made sweet in the joy of their victory, this day is celebrated as sweet Eid or Eid-ul-Fitr.

It is believed that the first Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated in 624 AD. Prophet Muhammad has stated that to celebrate the festival, Allah has already mentioned the two most sacred days in the Quran Sharif which are called Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Juha.

There are two types of Eid celebrated in Islam, one is Eid-ul-Fitr, which is called sweet Eid because on this day people eat sweet services and Shir Kurma in the happiness of the end of Ramadan and the other is Eid-ul-Juha which is Bakrid Also says. Eid-ul-Juha is celebrated in the last year of the Islamic calendar.

After Eid, religious people leave for Hajj, this Haj is performed by going to Mecca Medina and worshiping Allah. On the day Haji completes his Haj, people all over the world offer sacrifices and celebrate Bakrid. This festival is celebrated about two months after Eid.

When is Eid ul Fitr in India – Eid al-Fitr Date

Eid is about to come and all children, young and old people wait eagerly for this day. In such a situation, all Muslim people are desperate to know when Eid ul Fitr is there  or when Eid is in 2020 ? Eid 2020 , the biggest festival of Muslims, will be celebrated in India on 25th May this time.

On the day of Eid, the Muslims thank God that he gave his brothers the power to fast for a month and also kept them healthy so that no hindrance in the worship of God.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and at the end of it, the 10th month begins, which is called Shavaval. The first moon night of this month is the moon night of Eid. Waiting for this moon night is special for the whole year because Eid ul Fitr, a big festival in Islam, is announced by the moon seen on this night.

In this way this moon brings the message of Eid. This moon night is called Arfa . It is considered to be very good to see the moon of Eid, it is believed that after praying the moon of Eid, if you ask for prayers with true heart, then it is fulfilled.

On May 24 this year, the moon of Eid will be seen. According to the Holy Quran, after giving fast in the Pak month of Ramadan, Allah rewards his brothers one day. After a hard battle in the spiritual month of Eid, there is a spiritual reward from Rosadar to Allah.

Eid ul Fitr comes after how many days per year and why does it have a difference of 10 days? The answer to this is – no specific day has been fixed for the festival of Eid every year , it keeps decreasing and increasing with the rise of the moon.

Eid is calculated through the Hijri calendar and the rise of the moon, many times Eid is celebrated on different days in different places. Like Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated in Saudi Arabia , a day before it was celebrated in India.

How is Eid-ul-Fitr festival celebrated?

Muslims celebrate Eid festival with full enthusiasm. Everyone is waiting for Eid, and the moon of Eid brings a message of humility and brotherhood to all. As soon as the moon comes at night, there is no place for the happiness of children. On this day shops and markets are decorated like a bride.

Throughout the night, people buy clothes, shoes, kurta, hats, bangles etc. in the markets. By the way, preparations for Eid start a month in advance, people make new clothes and decorate houses. On the night of the moon, women apply mehendi in their hands.

On the morning of Eid, people take a bath and wear new clothes, they are also put on them and a cap is put on their head. After that the boys and men go to Idgah or Jama Masjid from their homes to offer Eid ul Fitr prayers where the whole community together offer Eid prayers. A similar scene is seen in all the major mosques of the country.

Before Namaz, donations are made to the poor and the needy. In Islam, giving donations on the day of Eid is considered important. Every Muslim is encouraged to donate something in the form of money, food and clothes. This donation is also called Zakat and Fitra in Islam and it is the duty of every Muslim to give Zakat. These donations are given to the poor according to their status.

After offering prayers, everyone embraces each other and congratulates Eid by saying Eid Mubarak . It shows the love and mutual brotherhood of each other. All the children of the household get IDs and gifts from parents and elders.

On the occasion of Eid, a special feast is prepared in which specially sweet macavai is made, in addition to this many types of dishes are also prepared. On the occasion of this festival, Muslim brothers from Shir Kurma, sweets and services welcome each other. In this way, worship, food and union are the main feature of this festival.

The festival of Eid teaches us that we should follow the path shown by Muhammad and do not discriminate against any person by following his teachings.
