Environmental Impact of Human Activities on its Environment

Since man has existed on planet Earth, he has given rise to many environmental problems due to his bad relationship with the resources and services that nature offers, to the point of jeopardizing his own existence and that of future generations. Undoubtedly, in recent times man has an essential role in terms of impacts on the environment and that today is a real concern for humanity.

In this sense, knowledge about the environmental problems that exist and that are leading to an environmental disaster of both man and the planet is important. This ecological crisis cannot be resolved without the greatest cause and responsibility as man is.

Therefore, environmental problems are the impacts of human activities or behaviors both social, economic, political and cultural on their environment or natural environment. That is, the human being is related to the elements of nature and when it intervenes causing some damage on them, it is what is known as environmental problems.

There are also many ecological problems in the world that are polluting the environment and that are related to other social and economic problems. Environmental problems are classified as follows:

  • According to its origin: natural, human, rural and urban.
  • According to its geographical scale: local, regional, national and global.
  • According to its time scale: short duration, long duration and permanent.
  • According to their economic system: developed and underdeveloped countries.

On the other hand, there are many problems on planet earth, but among the most important it is worth mentioning the following:

  • Environmental pollution
  • Effect on air, water, soil, flora and fauna.
  • Waste and solid waste
  • Climate change
  • Global warming
  • Greenhouse effect
  • Decrease in the ozone layer
  • Deforestation
  • Desertification
  • Forest fires
  • Increase in carbon footprint
  • Genetic modifications
  • Effects on marine life
  • Public health problems
  • Overpopulation
  • Biodiversity loss
  • Illegal minery
  • Natural disasters
  • Endangered species
  • Acid rain
  • Urban dispersion
  • Garbage and landfills

Consequently, each of these environmental problems impact on natural ecosystems, the landscape, and human health causing effects such as cancer, respiratory diseases, disorders, immunodeficiency, allergies and others that deteriorate the quality of life and the environment.

Thus, there are many other environmental problems that are increasingly aggravated by the degradation of the environment and all its natural resources. Therefore, the only cause is the human species due to ignorance, not knowing the elements of the environment and mainly due to the lack of environmental education that promotes knowledge, awareness and awareness in all humanity in general as a response to these ecological impacts to achieve sustainable development.

Hence, all humanity must act right now to implement, measures to solve these environmental problems that ensure survival through the following actions:

  • Not contaminate
  • Do not cut down and burn
  • Save water and energy
  • Stop consumerism
  • Implement renewable energy
  • Promote the use of the bicycle
  • Respect and comply with environmental laws
  • Develop environmental values
  • Promote environmental education as the basis for change

With all the above said, it is today and right now to begin with an urgent change of behavior towards the care and protection of the environment. The solution of all environmental problems is the responsibility of the same cause as man and on him depends his own existence and that of future generations on this planet.
