Ebastel Medicine

Ebastel is an oral antihistamine medicine used to treat allergic rhinitis and chronic urticaria. Ebastine is the active ingredient in this medicine that works by preventing the effects of histamine, a substance that causes allergy symptoms in the body.Ebastel is produced by the Eurofarma pharmaceutical laboratory and can be purchased from pharmacies in tablet or syrup form.

Ebastel Indications

Ebastel is indicated for the treatment of allergic rhinitis, whether or not associated with allergic conjunctivitis, and chronic urticaria.

How to use Ebastel

How to use Ebastel tablet for adults and children over 12 years can be:

  • Allergic rhinitis:10 mg or 20 mg once a day, depending on the intensity of the symptoms.
  • Urticaria:10 mg once a day.

Ebastel Syrup is suitable for children over 2 years and can be taken as follows:

  • Children aged 2 to 5 years:5 mL syrup once a day;
  • Children aged 6 to 11 years:5 mL of syrup once a day;
  • Children over 12 years and adults:10 mL of syrup once a day.

The duration of treatment with Ebastel should be indicated by the allergist doctor according to the symptoms presented by the patient.

Ebastel Side Effects

Side effects of Ebastel include headache, dizziness, dry mouth, drowsiness, pharyngitis, stomach ache, difficulty digesting, weakness, nasal bleeding, rhinitis, sinusitis, nausea and insomnia.

Ebastel Contraindications

Ebastel is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the components of the formula in pregnancy, breast-feeding and in patients with severe hepatic impairment. The tablets are contraindicated in children under 12 years and syrup in children under 2 years.Patients with heart problems who are receiving antifungal or antibiotic treatment or lack blood potassium should not use this medicine without medical advice.
