Disable Android Screen Lock

Do you often forget your phone’s unlock code or are you tired of having to enter it every time? Are you going to remove the need to enter a code every time you want to unlock your Android smartphone? Don’t worry, in this article we will explain how to remove the unlock pattern from Android .

Obviously we warn you that this operation could affect your privacy. Suppose you forget to always carry your phone with you and in the office or school you leave it on the table to go to the bathroom. Anyone could get their hands on it and easily view your personal data, without your permission!

However, if your decision remains unchanged, continue reading this guide to remove the lock screen from Android and follow the instructions we will give you step by step. In a few minutes you will know how!

Delete the Android screen lock

If you have an Android smartphone, the procedure to disable the screen lock is very simple, even if, as mentioned before, it is extremely risky for your privacy. First, you need to go to Settings () and select the item “Security”. From the new screen that opens to you, proceed by clicking “Screen lock” and set “Swipe” or “None” as the method to unlock your Android smartphone, then enter the PIN if required. Now your device is easily accessible thanks to a swipe on the lit screen.

In case, even following the procedure we have indicated to you, you have not managed to remove the Android screen lock , here is another method for you. One of the main problems you may encounter in disabling the screen lock on Android , is that the option to select to free your device from password is not selectable.

In this case, you must proceed differently. Here are several solutions, depending on the type of unlock you have set:

  1. First, you need to turn off the screen lock with your fingerprint. If you have a device that supports this function and you have set your fingerprint as a screen lock system (if this is not the case, go to step 2), then let’s see how to remove it. Go to the settings of your smartphone, then press Security> Fingerprint and type the PIN, if requested, to disable the screen unlock with the fingerprint . If you have not been able to find the items of this procedure, then go to the settings, look for the item “Fingerprint ID” and then “Fingerprint Management”, type the unlock credentials and check the lever for the “Unlock screen” option;
  2. At this point, you need to deactivate the screen lock PINand replace it with a pattern. From the “Settings” menu, select “Security”, then “Screen lock” and proceed to “Pattern”, typing your current unlock code and choosing a pattern to unlock the screen. In case you can’t find the “Security” item, proceed from the settings by going to “Screen lock & Password”, select the current unlock method and type the code, then press “Pattern” and set one to use. Enter a backup PIN when prompted to access your smartphone in case you forget the sequence;
  3. Put the device in stand-by (screen locked) and turn it back on, mistaking the unlock pattern 5 times. Wait for the countdown to finish and press on the Backup PIN item, which you set earlier.

After these steps, your device should be free from any screen unlocking method. Every time you turn it on, in fact, just a simple swipe upwards and that’s it.

How to remove the Huawei screen lock

If you own a smartphone from Huawei, the procedures indicated in the previous paragraph should work without problems, but this is not always the case.

In case they are not for you, here are alternative solutions to disable the screen lock from Huawei :

  • From the “Settings” menu, select the “Advanced Settings” and “Security” items. Click on the “Delete credentials” option at the bottom of the menu and confirm. By doing this, you will have deleted all the credentials you had saved on your device. If the unlocking credentials have not been deleted, you should do it manually by going to “Settings”, then “Screen lock & Password” and then “Password”;
  • Still from the “Settings” menu and then in “Advanced settings”, press “Device administrators”. Disable all applications to which you have given administrator permissions on your device and then follow the numbered procedure that we showed you in the previous paragraph. The reason why we have freed Huawei from apps with administrator privileges is because the latter could somehow prevent you from removing the screen lock;
  • In case you have activated the encryption of your smartphone, to remove the screen unlock credentials , you will need to deactivate the encryption function by going to Settings> Advanced settings> Security. This operation, however, will involve the elimination of all the data present in memory. You can also disable it by downloading the Activity Launcher App, then selecting the All activities> Settings> Perform phone encryption item.

Well, now that we have seen all the possible operations to unlock the screen of your Android smartphone, you shouldn’t have any more problems doing it. We remind you, however, that this operation could put your privacy and your device at risk, allowing anyone to view its content.
