Season 21 of Destiny 2 brought a host of new content, including fishing, new armor, and the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon. And with the dungeon comes a new exotic weapon: the Navigator. Here’s everything you need to know about the Navigator in Destiny 2: Season of the Deep, including bonuses.
What are the new Ghosts of the Deep Exotic, The Navigator?
Navigator is exotic. The Strand Trace Rifle which means that it interacts with the latest subclass of Destiny 2 and, when equipped, is in the Kinetic slot .
When the dungeon debuted on May 26, 2023 in the Season of the Deep, I spent several hours figuring out the mechanics of the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon with my fireteam in hopes of getting The Navigator after defeating the final boss, but we were unsuccessful. I will own it one day!
Navigator’s Inner Trait in Destiny 2
The weapon is distinguished by an internal defensive weave feature which, when fired at a teammate, grants both the wearer and ally in the Chainmail Buff . This makes the Navigator perfect for just about any group activity, be it Raid, Crucible, or Vanguard, because the buff grants 60% damage resistance for 10 seconds .
Navigator Unique Ability in Destiny 2
Another unique perk that the Navigator has is Duck Cutter . This one rips apart targets that take sustained damage, reducing their damage dealt. Again, this makes Exotic a good choice for team-based activities where you can support your allies.

How to Get an Exotic Navigator in Destiny 2
Guardians who defeated the final boss of the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon, Symmumah Ur-Nokru , and complete the dungeon to receive the Navigator. Like other exotic dungeons and raids, it has a 5% drop rate although it can be boosted by completing the following Triumphs :
- Deny Death– Complete all encounters in the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon without dying or exiting the quest.
- Memory– Find and listen to every memory of the Darkness in the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon.
- Alone in the Deep– Complete all encounters in the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon solo without leaving the mission.
- King of the Deep– Complete all encounters in the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon solo without dying or leaving the quest.
- Sovereign– Complete the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon on Master difficulty.
Can you farm a Navigator in Destiny 2?
No, the navigator is not suitable for agriculture. No, when you consider that he can only fall once per week per class. However, you can farm legendary loot in Ghosts of the Deep.
How to get the Navigator Catalyst and what it does in Destiny 2
I didn’t get the gun or its catalyst myself, but according to SHI3LDSHI3LD on Reddit, it’s pretty simple.
Facing each encounter in the dungeon, you will notice a statue . Look for a stack of dead ghosts near each statue after fights to get a buff , then take that buff to the nearest statue . This, according to the user, will create a boss . defeat him three times to buff every statue and chest containing The Navigator Catalyst should appear.
The Navigator Catalyst adds alternate fire that creates a capture point , perfect for escaping enemy ambushes. I’m so excited to end up getting this as it sounds fucking broken!
