Data Protection Day in Europe . Date established by the European Commission, the Council of Europe and the Data Protection authorities of the member states of the European Union, in order to remind, instruct and promote knowledge among citizens regarding rights and responsibilities as an internet user , is celebrated every January 28 [1] .
Celebration
The day of data protection arises in 2006, in commemoration of the anniversary of the signing of Convention 108, the cornerstone of data protection in Europe and which establishes in its article 18 an Advisory Committee (T-PD) in charge, among other tasks , to prepare proposals in order to facilitate or improve the application of the Convention, to present proposals to amend the Convention and to rule on questions relating to its application [2] .
