Synopsis
Shadows of death loom over the Carpathian clan. After centuries of opposition to the call of darkness and evil sorcerers, his prince Mikhail Dubrinsky, faces the most difficult of tasks: to protect his people from the dark threat that rises towards the continuity of his race.

Carpathians
The Carpathians are a race of men born in the mountains with that name of long longevity, or rather immortality. They are a line of ancient warriors who fight vampires to protect their race and humans at the same time. They feed on blood , but unlike vampires, they do not terrorize their prey, nor kill while feeding, they are kind to humans and when they finish feeding they erase their memories so they do not know what happened.
When Carpathian men are approximately 200 years old they lose the ability to see in colors , they see only white , black and grayscale , together with the colors they lose their emotions, leaving only their honor to move on and the memories of what once felt.
As the years go by, Carpathian men are assaulted by a darkness that lives within them, an inner beast, calling them to feel the power of death as they feed. With each vampire that kills, his soul is torn apart more and his inner beast grows stronger. Many of them succumb to the call of power and become evil vampires, others instead choose to walk to the light of the sunwhen they know the time is near to die with honor. The only thing that can save these men from such a lonely and painful fate is to find their mate, the other half of their soul, the light for their darkness.
As the race is almost extinct, with almost all pregnancies ending in abortions , and of the few children born very few survive the first year, there are no little girls who can one day be companions of men of their race. And then they discover that certain women with psychic abilities can be the companions of these men, and that they can be successfully converted to their race. But the conversion is painful, and requires three exchanges of blood. On the other hand, not everyone can be a partner, because partners are not chosen. Only the one that can give man back his emotions and colors is his true companion.
