Competition

Competition. Opposition between individuals who dispute for the obtaining of some benefit, prize, position, or leadership. They can be sports, intellectual, political, labor or commercial competitions. In the competitions there will always be after the dispute, winners and losers. On the other hand, the term competence is linked to incumbency, when naming expertise, aptitude and suitability to do something or intervene in a certain matter. Thus, jurisdiction is the legitimate attribution to a judge or other authority for the knowledge or resolution of a matter.
