CoD Warzone: How to Play Battle Royale on PS5 with 120 FPS

Gamers with a PS5 can now enjoy Battle Royale Call of Duty: Warzone at up to 120 FPS, as long as the TV or monitor can handle that too. DLPrivateServer shows you how to activate the 120 Hz output.

Warzone Now with 120Hz Support on PS5: Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4 kicked off today. In addition to all sorts of new content such as 4 new weapons, numerous bug fixes and extensive balance adjustments, the new update 1.38 also brought a nice feature for PS5 players: the Battle Royale can now also be played on PS5 with up to 120 FPS.

This is important to many players, especially in shooters, because it gives them a noticeably smoother experience. And tests show that higher FPS actually helps aim. Here we explain what you have to do and what is important.

  • When you get to “Video Out”, all you have to do is scroll all the way down to the “Enable 120Hz Output” point. Here you have to set the option to “automatic”

With this done, your PS5 will now generally play all games at 120 FPS when possible. But you’re not done with that yet. Now you have to change the following in the settings:

  • Navigate in the “Settings” menu to the point “Saved data and game / application settings”.
  • There, now select “Game Preferences” and set the option to “Performance Mode”

In the game you don’t have to change anything in Warzone.

Also note: There are currently some reports that despite these settings, Warzone still “only” runs at 60 FPS when HDR is enabled on the console. If that’s the case for you too, you can just turn off HDR and avoid the problem (hopefully temporary).
