The Cardamom , Elettaria cardamomum (Light) and Amomum subulatum (black cardamom). It is a spice  belongs to the Zingiberaceae family, (from the same family as ginger).It is a tropical plant.Cardamom is one of the ingredients from which curry is made.

Cardamom was known since ancient times by the Greeks and Romans, who used it to produce perfumes. It is currently one of the most expensive spices in the world after saffron and vanilla.

A spice with remarkable properties

To be used, the capsule
must be broken and the seeds that can be ground or used for herbal teas or infusions must be taken. The presence of a substance called cineole makes this spice very stimulating and able to act on the central nervous system, the cineol has antiseptic properties, it is useful in cases of sore throat, pharyngitis and respiratory disorders.
The properties of cardamom are linked to the stimulation of digestion, it can in fact bring many benefits in case of vomiting and nausea.

The essential oil of cardamom

Its essential oil can help our body produce gastric juices and stimulate the appetite, it also has the quality to accelerate the metabolism, which makes it effective in case of diets.
