Biodiversity Conservation: Caring for and Maintaining Biological Diversity

The human being is the one that has caused the loss of the diversity of animals and plants, as a result of their unsustainable activities with natural resources, population growth, the destruction of ecosystems, landscapes, forests and the deterioration of the environment, putting in danger to the health and quality of life of societies.

Given the socio-environmental problems that cause the extinction of the diversity of species on the planet, it is necessary and urgent to guarantee the conservation of this variety of life as a fundamental part of the ecological balance. Also, we must protect the ecosystems that are where these species live and consequently all natural areas as vital services for human survival.

The current humanity must stop the crisis of the loss of biodiversity because it is a guarantee of well-being, since the human being depends on it to feed, dress, obtain fuel, production, raw material, recreation, tourism, medicines, regulation, water , oxygen and among many ecosystem services for the support and supply of life on earth.

The conservation of biodiversity is to ensure that all humanity as responsible for the loss of it, protect, maintain and conserve the variety of living things such as animals, plants, fungi, microorganisms, genes and ecosystems. In other words, conserving species diversity is caring for, valuing and preserving habitats, natural spaces and the environment.

Human beings must reduce the loss of biodiversity and begin to maintain it through sustainable actions, habits, behaviors and activities such as:
Find out about and know the environmental problem of species extinction for a sustainable use of biodiversity.

  • It supports and participates with environmental organizations, institutions and groups for the defense and conservation of the environment.
  • Consume and produce sustainably to reduce the environmental impact.
  • Complaint to the authorities in environmental matters, animal abuse, indiscriminate hunting, destruction of ecosystems, jungle, forests, illegal trade in species and among other environmental illegal activities that transform the environment.
  • It takes care and values the lawns, natural areas, gardens and habitats for the diversity of species.
  • Promotes local, regional and national biodiversity
  • Increase biodiversity through planting flowers and plants in urban areas.
  • Reduce or control crops without pesticides
  • Promotes and promotes organic, organic or sustainable agriculture.
  • Consume and use organic products.
  • Promotes environmental education for awareness and knowledge before environmental problems.
  • Reduce, recycle and reuse.
  • Take care of animals and plants.
  • Do not produce imbalances or pollution of natural environments.
  • Do not destroy and ensure the maintenance of habitats and ecosystems
  • Avoid making fire in natural areas so as not to produce forest fires.
  • Do not burn and even such trees.
  • Do not contaminate air, water and soil.
  • Plant trees.
  • Participate and promote environmental impact assessments.
  • Awakens awareness about the importance of biodiversity for human survival.
  • It lives in balance with nature and its renewable resources.
  • Do not cause environmental impacts in any natural environment.
  • Respect laws and conventions in relation to biological diversity.
  • It reduces the demand for energy and promotes renewables such as solar energy.
  • Reduces the generation of solid waste.
  • Put into practice other sustainable measures and in balance with the environment.

Undoubtedly, there are many actions to conserve the planet’s biodiversity, but citizens’ environmental education plays an important role in the awareness, awareness, assessment and environmental culture of the citizens of each country. The knowledge of the benefits that diversity of life brings to humanity is essential for the management and sustainable use of this potential for future generations.

Definitely, the environmental impact of mankind on biodiversity is the fragmentation, degradation and deterioration of ecosystems, habitats, forests, wetlands and natural spaces. Hence, human beings as components of this diversity, have the responsibility to stop mainly environmental pollution, overexploitation of natural resources, poor planning and land management, unsustainable projects, invasive species and climate change that extinguishes the variety of living beings on planet earth.
