Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: How Fishing Works

It’s one of many actions on your action wheel that you can easily forget to watch, as the tutorial doesn’t really go over it. It’s kind of like how can you do The Rekindling World Event and not realize that you are supposed to drop the torch to the ground. However, if you incorporate fishing into your regular game, it will be surprisingly profitable.

Eivor can start casting lines when you build the fishing hut in Ravensthorpe. The cabin appears for potential construction once its settlement reaches rank two. Inside, you’ll find a young man named Arth who asks for a certain fish and offers nice rewards in return. You can get runes and even Arth ingots in exchange for your fish.

The first step is naturally to find an area with a lot of water. The game’s many rivers serve that very well, and you can even fish in your boat. To get started, press down on the D-Pad to open its action wheel. Choose the fishing line; yes, this is before the days of fishing rods.

Once Eivor has pulled out the fishing line, use the left trigger to aim and the right trigger to cast. Like many fishing minigames in open world games, you will see the shadow of a fish approach your hook and feel your controller rumble when they bite. That’s your cue to press the correct trigger to start winding them.

Once the battle starts, you know what to do: smash X or A like crazy to catch the fish before it can get away and escape. With that said, you will also need to keep adjusting your line from time to time. If you pull too much in either direction, the rope may break and you will lose your fish.
