Art is a term that describes a wide range of human activities.

Encyclopædia Britannica Online defines art as “the use of skill and imagination in the creation of aesthetic objects, environments or experiences that can be shared with others”.

Art is the quality, production, expression, or mastery, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, attractive, or more than a common meaning.

The products of these human property activities refer to the visual arts, which cover the creation of images or objects in areas, including painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography and other visual media.

In fact, the definitions of this concept vary widely at different times and places, and none of them is universally accepted.

Thus, by Marcel Mauss, “a work of art, by definition, is the object recognized as such by a group. “This is why collections of artistic productions can be evaluated and classified differently in different cultures, authors and institutions.

In Europe, since the 18th century, the term mainly covers the products of the so-called “plastic arts”, such as sculpture, painting, architecture, graphic arts, as well as music, dance and poetry and literature.

The artist’s ability to read and interpret life, with such sensitivity and to express it in the form of paintings, music and other works, is what is called Art.

Art can be expressed through sculpture, like Michelangelo’s Davi. In Ravel scores or paintings by Van Gogh, Picasso, Dali and other exponents of artistic movements. Art is transmitted through the artist, who uses creativity to externalize the work, whose inspiration is revealed by the perception of life.
