General characteristics
AbanQ is a modular ERP available for Linux , MAC OS X and Windows 2000 / NT. It includes its own rapid development platform to adapt the application. Currently there are integrated modules in continuous development for billing, warehouse, treasury management, financial accounting , automotive workshops, training, POS, production control (MRP) and also full support for barcodes. AbanQ (ex FacturaLUX) is free software , although not free, since it is sold under the GPL license. There is a lite version, which does not include some modules.
AbanQ project
The initial objective of AbanQ is to create a computer application that allows the development of solutions for the administration and management of SMEs , as well as different customizations that cover the management and financial needs of companies, based on the free software model.
AbanQ aims to be an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software , which offers a solid, stable and optimized framework for the rapid development of any type of solution oriented to administration , commercial management , finance and in general to any type of application where large databases and administrative processes are handled. The applications built in the AbanQ open framework are multiplatform , internationalized, standards-based, and licensed under the GPL (GNU General Public License) free software.
AbanQ is free software, allowing the distribution, copy and modification of all its source code. The fact that AbanQ is free software is important, since it allows offering much more than the usual closed software applications for SMEs, it allows offering all the source code and a whole set of tools that make it possible to modify and adapt the software to the particular casuistry of each SME, based on general and robust solutions, that is to say, SMEs own the technology they use, and do not depend on proprietary software and third-party technology. In this work context, it is possible to have different AbanQ open source solutions for different business sectors, and within each sector different variations of the general solution that cover very specific aspects of certain companies.
In short, with AbanQ, SMEs are absolute owners of the software technology they use and cooperate to improve it. This reduces the digital divide between companies, increases their competitiveness and allows the capital that has been invested in proprietary software licenses to be redirected to the local technological labor market, for the construction and improvement of its own technology.
With AbanQ, any SME will be able to adapt the applications offered to their particular needs by hiring the services of local programmers, because everything necessary, source code and tools, are freely available from the first moment for any programmer to adapt or expand. AbanQ.
InfoSiAL is the driving company, main developer and administrator of the AbanQ project, a project recognized by the OSDN (Open Software Development Network) and hosted on Sourceforge.net. He leads a team of his own developers and independent developers interested in AbanQ and who have collaborated or are collaborating in it, following the free software model.
The AbanQ project currently has a large number of followers, and is one of the main references that currently exist in software of its category for the Linux operating system .
