Natural or biological food is one where there are no chemical elements or additives in its structure or composition. Starting from the above, we will address examples of organic products .

What are organic products?

Organic products are all foods that originate from nature and do not have chemical elements or additives that alter their composition. 

On the other hand, these foods tend to be called ‘ organic’ or ‘ biological’ , due to their primordial nature, structure and composition.

In turn, these products, as their name indicates, are cultivated without any intervention of physical or chemical agents, for example, pesticides, fertilizers, among other artificial items.

In this way, we characterize some examples of organic products, as well as their benefits and disadvantages for human consumption.

Examples of organic products

1. Café

This agricultural product is one of the most consumed in homes, being the main drink to activate us during the day.

On the other hand, coffee originates from Africa and began to be distributed in Central Asia during the 9th century.

Subsequently, it was traded with Europeans during the colonial era from the 18th century until it reached America.

Undoubtedly, this drink is an excellent companion in our daily tasks and its properties range from medicinal to aphrodisiac.

However, prolonged and excessive consumption of this infusion ranges from dependence, increased heart rate, high blood pressure , weakness of dental enamel and gastritis .

2. Honey

Bee honey is an organic product that has many medicinal properties and is applied in some universal gastronomy recipes.

From a medicinal point of view, it is a natural expectorant that reduces inflammation in the upper respiratory tract, being useful in patients with bronchitis and bronchial asthma.

However, excessive consumption of honey can cause botulism, a disease that attacks the nervous system and is caused by toxins from the Clostridium botulinum bacterium .

3. Chamomile

Chamomile in its tea or infusion presentation is a natural remedy that is used as an antiseptic, antispasmodic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, digestive and anxiolytic.

There are multiple benefits when eating chamomile, being a natural product that is easily harvested and without the need to use fertilizers or chemicals.

On the other hand, the disadvantages of these organic products is that they can cause drowsiness, vomiting, nausea and care should be taken in case of pregnancy.

4. Yogurt

This dairy drink is one of the most consumed nutritional supplements of organic origin and its benefits are multiple.

Regarding the benefits, we can mention that it is a source of vitamins from the B Complex, calcium, A, magnesium, zinc, phosphorus and protects the intestinal flora.

However, some precautions of yogurt are its high index of saturated fats, sugars and if you are on a diet, these ingredients can spoil your diet.

5. Olive oil

One of the ingredients that accompany the meals is olive oil, whose preparation comes from the fruit of the olive tree or ‘olive’ and dates back to ancient times.

However, its benefits range from local to systemic, that is, it is a natural digestive, it has antibiotic properties, it reduces the appearance of cancer and arthritis.

As if that were not enough, olive oil has a regenerative capacity in skin cells, favoring the action of collagen and reducing the risk of metabolic diseases.

According to its disadvantages, they range from a considerable increase in triglycerides due to its high caloric content to an increase in body weight.

6. Red meat

This product is biological and comes from beef, although it can be seasoned with natural elements and additives.

However, red meat has properties and health benefits as a source of B complex, fiber, iron, folic acid and helps protein metabolism .

In the same way, it favors the new formation of red blood cells (erythrocytes), which are cells that form the elements of blood.

Despite its benefits, excessive consumption of red meat can cause metabolic problems such as increased uric acid or gouty arthritis, as well as cardiovascular risk.

7. Corn

Various products such as flours, drinks, cereals and supplements can be produced and elaborated from corn, which provide benefits to our health.

Of these benefits we can cite calcium to strengthen our bones, protects the heart, provides us with dietary fiber for muscles and carbohydrates.

As if that were not enough, it is an organic product recommended to treat oxidative stress, preventing the synthesis of free radicals, hence its antioxidant action.

However, its high consumption is harmful, especially with the increase in carbohydrates, favoring obesity and metabolic disorders.

8. Nuts

Nuts have their advantages and precautions, of these natural foods we can mention walnuts, almonds, pistachios, almonds and peanuts.

Among the benefits that nuts provide , we can mention their protection for the heart, brain, nervous system and a true cerebral oxygenator.

Added to this, it contains minerals and trace elements that nourish our body, taking care of bones, muscles, skin and hair.

Despite its benefits, there are also precautions and its high consumption can cause the appearance of plaques in the blood vessels, weight gain and metabolic disorders.
