What Is NASA:5 Interesting Facts You Must Know

NASA means National Aeronautics and Space Administration. It is the American Space Agency, which is responsible for  space research, space exploration  programs and discovery of  new inventions in the world of space technology.

What Is NASA:5 Interesting Facts You Must Know

History of NASA.

NASA emerged in the midst of the Cold War, between the United States of America and the Soviet Union. In 1957, the USSR launched Sputnik 1, the first artificial satellite. The US response was the creation of NASA and the development of ambitious space missions and programs.NASA has developed  space programs and space research project, where a large group of astronauts and scientists conduct studies.

Some NASA programs and space missions

  • Mercury Program

The Mercury program was started by NASA in 1958 and was intended to launch a man into space and discover the effects spawned by space on the human body. In May 1961, astronaut Alan Shepard went into space flying the Freedom 7 spacecraft.

  • Apollo Program

The Apollo program was intended to go the man in the moon .. In July 1969, Apollo 11 landed on lunar soil . Through the Apollo 12 program, people were brought to the surface of the Moon, and Neil Armstrong was the first man to step on the moon.

  • International Space Station – ISS

The International Space Station is an international space research facility that orbits Earth and performs about 15 rounds around our planet daily.

  • Voyager Program

The Voyager program launched two space probes, Voyager 1 and Voyager 2, with the intention of exploring planets like Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus. Launched in 1975, the probes carry bronze and gold-plated CDS that have sounds, images and videos from Earth.

  • Hubble Space Telescope

Released in 1990, the Hubble telescope is one of the largest telescopes ever launched in space. His images made him a fundamental tool for studying the universe.

  • Mars Exploration Rovers

Shipping of unmanned vehicles for exploration of the planet Mars. The Spirit and Opportunity vehicles were launched in the year of 2010. Of the two vehicles, only Opportunity continues to send information to Earth. One of the most significant results of the exploration of the red planet was the discovery of the presence of water.

  • Kepler Mission

The Kepler Mission began in May 2014 and aims to explore the universe. NASA has launched the Kepler spacecraft into space with the main purpose of knowing Earth-like planets.

The activity of NASA has aroused much suspicion.Currently, NASA’s field of action is more comprehensive and involves aeronautical research (such as development of the X-15 rocket aircraft). The development of technologies for exploration systems, scientific research for universe and space operations such as aircraft launches and rockets are main Future projects of Nasa.
