The end of the world will be a time of destruction and judgment, but also of hope for those who love Jesus. There are many prophecies in the Bible about what the end of the world will be like, but we will only understand everything when it has happened. The believer need not be afraid of the end of the world.
Before the end of the world, several things will happen:
- Many wars
- The coming of the antichrist
- Natural disasters
- Hunger and disease
These are some of the signs that the end is near. After these events, the end of the world will come.
See here: what are the signs of the end of the world?
End of the world events
Both the Old and New Testaments talk about certain events that will happen at the end of the world:
The coming of Jesus
At the end of the world, Jesus will return to bring judgment, establish justice and take the saints to Heaven ( Matthew 24: 30-31 ). Jesus’ coming is the great event that marks the end of the world. The great hope of every believer is that we have not been abandoned; one day Jesus will return to take us to heaven.

The last battle
All of God’s enemies will come together to fight against Him and the saints. The enemies will be many but God will defeat them ( Revelation 19: 19-21 ). It will be a day of great victory for the people of God.

The destruction of the world
God will destroy the whole world with fire ( 2 Peter 3:10 ). This will be a day of judgment and punishment for sin, which has corrupted the earth. Everything that is imperfect will be destroyed.
The resurrection and the Last Judgment
All the dead will rise, some for judgment, some for eternal life ( Daniel 12: 2 ). Everyone will be taken before God and whoever has his name written in the book of life will go to Heaven. But whoever is condemned will be thrown into the lake of fire, along with the devil and his angels, suffering eternal destruction.

New skies and new earth
After all, God will restore all things, creating a world full of His presence, without sin or suffering ( Revelation 21: 3-4 ). All the saved will receive new imperishable bodies and will live forever with God.
All of these events are going to happen at the end of the world but no one knows for sure when it will even be the exact order of events. This is a mystery that only God knows. But God has already warned that one day it will happen, so we must be prepared. The best way to prepare is to live right ( 2 Peter 3: 13-14 ). We need not be afraid, because the end of the world will mark the beginning of an eternity of joy for the saved.
