What is the Pomodoro Technique?

Since the pandemic period caused by the Covid-19 Virus, many companies have demanded their employees to have good time management skills. Because efficient work time management is a skill that is needed and desired in today’s world of work, especially in the case of employees who work remotely or currently we are more often familiar with the term Work from Home .

When working online or working remotely, there are many advantages and disadvantages, one of the drawbacks is the discovery of several cases where the working time is more flexible but becomes unlimited. For example, during normal working hours the meeting agenda should be held but the meetingit became held in the evening at the time it was supposed to rest. To avoid this imbalance, we must be able to apply methods to be able to work more efficiently and effectively in this day and age. There are many methods that can help us focus and work effectively, one of which is the Pomodoro Technique. The Pomodoro technique is proven to be effective in helping people stay focused and productive throughout the day.

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management system or time management technique created by Francesco Cirillo at the end of the 20th century. The Pomodoro technique refers to time management with certain time intervals interspersed with rest periods. The Pomodoro technique is based on using a clock with an interval of 25 minutes and then separating one activity from another with a 5-minute break, assuming that having a break has a positive impact on productivity.

The term “Pomodoro” comes from the tomato-looking kitchen timer that Cirillo used in his early experiments with the method. The Pomodoro tracking technique works well at work, study, or other activities that involve the mind.

Currently, there are many Pomodoro applications or online Pomodoro timers that allow us to be able to set work and rest times that we can adjust to our needs. Using the Pomodoro timer application is also very easy, but in addition to the application, we can also use the Pomodoro technique simply by setting the time with the alarm clock on our gadget.
