Love is a very powerful force that connects people. It is more than an emotion or a feeling. It can grow out of a natural affection for someone or a decision to love another person. Love is a characteristic of God.
Love is different from passion. Passion is a feeling that passes but love is lasting. Love is the foundation on which all of our relationships must be built. Love brings people together in a special way. The other is no longer an object to use and becomes an important person, who deserves affection. Whoever loves wants the good of the loved one, cares about him, wants to spend time with him.

The love of God
The Bible says that God is love. God’s love is perfect and unconditional. God loves everyone at all times. God never stops loving us, no matter what we do. God showed His love for us when He sent Jesus to die in our place and restore our relationship with Him ( John 3:16 ).
True love comes from God. Whoever loves God also loves other people ( 1 John 4: 19-21 ). This love does not come from a natural affection for the people we love but it is the result of God’s love in us. We can decide to love people, just because they are people, just as God does.

Verses about what love is
“Jesus replied,” The most important thing is this: ‘Listen, O Israel, the Lord, our God, the Lord is the only Lord. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul , with all his understanding and with all his strength. “The second is this:” Love your neighbor as yourself. “There is no greater commandment than these.” – Mark 12: 29-31
“Love is patient, love is kind. Do not envy, do not boast, do not be proud. He doesn’t mistreat, he doesn’t look for his interests, he doesn’t get angry easily, he doesn’t hold a grudge. Love is not happy with injustice, but is happy with the truth. Everything suffers, everything believes, everything hopes, everything supports. Love never perishes ” – 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8
“Above all, love one another sincerely, because love forgives so many sins.” – 1 Peter 4: 8
“Beloved, let us love one another, for love comes from God. He who loves is born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. That is how God manifested his love among us: he sent his Only Begotten Son into the world, so that we could live through him. This is what love is about: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a propitiation for our sins. ” – 1 John 4: 7-10
“In this way, love is perfected among us, so that on the day of judgment we may have confidence, because in this world we are like him. There is no fear in love; on the contrary, perfect love drives out fear, because fear implies punishment. ” – 1 John 4: 16-18
