Contraindications and warnings on the use of Imipenem + Cilastatina
Imipenem + Cilastatin is not indicated in case of heart block (alteration of the electrical impulses of the heart), severe shock and taking Probenecid. It may not be indicated in children weighing less than 30 kg and if associated with kidney problems or nervous system infections.
Before administration it is important to inform your doctor:
- of any allergies to the active substance, to its excipients, to any other drug (in particular to antibiotics or anesthetics), to foods or other substances;
- of the medicines, phytotherapy and supplements taken, in particular Ganciclovir, Amiodarone, beta-blockers, Cimetidine, Mexiletina, Probenecid, Succinylcholine, Divalproex, Valproic Acid and any drug that may increase the risk of convulsions;
- if you suffer (or have suffered) from kidney, liver or heart problems, high blood pressure, seizures or central nervous system problems;
- if you are in shock;
- if you have been very sick or very weak;
- in case of dialysis ;
- if you are pregnant or breastfeeding;
