Walkthrough They Are Billions

Detailed walkthrough of the “New Empire” story campaign

The storyline campaign in They Are Billions , unlike the survival mode maps, does not require any unlocks. At the very beginning, you must choose one of two heroes – Kaelus or Calliope. The first is a powerful, well-protected fighter, capable of withstanding many attacks and destroying entire hordes of opponents. The downside is that his attacks are very slow. In turn, Calliope is a character with a small supply of health points. While playing for her, you need to stay in motion, but this disadvantage is compensated for by high maneuverability and rate of fire.

The choice of the hero is a key aspect, since most of the tasks will be performed only by him and a certain group of allies. It should also be remembered that the characters will constantly evolve, and you will be able to increase your health, damage and defense.

Story missions fall into three main categories:

  1. Regular tasks. During their implementation, the goal will be to destroy all enemies, infected villages, obtain the required amount of raw materials, increase the population and a combination of the above tasks. Some tasks have additional modifiers: for example, increased production of raw materials.
  2. Tactical tasks. These are missions in which you control the hero chosen at the beginning of the campaign. During missions, you must look for an artifact hidden inside the fortress, making your way through dozens of enemies. For each of them, you will receive additional technology or Empire points. During some missions, you will also encounter friendly units that will join you and help you in battle.
  3. Battles against hordes of zombies. Sometimes a horde of Infected appears on the campaign map, blocking access to the next quest. You must deal with it in order to continue the journey. Combat in these missions is similar to survival. In the center of the map is a building that cannot be destroyed or infested with undead. Your goal is to destroy enemies pulling their forces from all sides. During the mission, you can set up fortifications, create units, using the Empire points received for completing previous tasks.

Campaign tips

Before launching a story campaign, there are a few tips to read:

  • Most importantly, settlers do not arrive in your city immediately after the tents are built. Now you need to wait for them to arrive on the train that follows the city once in a while.
  • Each task can be completed at different difficulty levels. The same principle works as in Survival mode. The higher the difficulty level, the more tasks and the better the reward.
  • As the campaign progresses, you will accumulate research and empire points. The former are used for technological development (the tree is available on the world map), and the latter are used during missions to destroy the horde of zombies. Their number determines how many fortifications and soldiers you can deploy.
  • During tactical missions in which you control a hero, you can get additional research and Empire points. You will have to interact with different objects – barrels, boxes, artifacts and computers. To check if such an interaction is possible, move the cursor over the potential object. If it lights up and the cursor changes its shape, it means that interaction is possible.
  • During tactical tasks, the player receives additional items, including first aid kits and grenades. First-aid kits allow you to restore health points for the hero and nearby allies, and grenades – to eliminate a large enemy group. Use them with care. If you don’t need a grenade, save it for later. And don’t throw a grenade at your feet!
  • Do not try to destroy the infected horde at the beginning of the mission. If you try to do this, you are unlikely to be able to win, due to the lack of Empire points for building fortifications and hiring soldiers. Complete all available tasks and only after that join the battle with the horde. A few extra hundreds of Empire Points will not be redundant!
  • Don’t forget to unlock new technologies. You can open the tree using the world map. Think carefully about your attachments as you cannot undo your selection.

Hidden settlement

Standard reward:

  • Empire Points – 140.
  • Research points – 120.

At any time during the game, you can click on the “check mark” in the lower right part of the screen, to the left of the resource list. This will allow you to become familiar with the objectives of the mission. You won’t have many buildings at your disposal. They are all built through the command center.

Build several tents, hunting and fishing lodges. Next, use the Tesla Towers to expand the power grid. You can build only within the network. The day on which the next wave of zombies will arrive is shown on the left side of the screen. In this case – 20. The mission must be completed in no more than 25 days.

Remember that you need to gain a population of 400, so you will have to expand, build tents and food sources. In addition to fishing and hunting huts, create mills.

Note that each building has two colors. If the first half (or part), yellow, leaves, then the building will be infected. You should also explore the location by collecting various resources. All buildings must be rebuilt parallel to each other. Install Tesla towers, since you will need almost the entire territory to the railway bridge and, possibly, to the left and above it. The horde will arrive on day 24, however, there will be lone zombies and small groups of 5-10 individuals.

You will need about 2 barracks, 4-5 mills, a lot of tents, hunting lodges (there are not many fishing houses, since the coast is narrow), 5-6 sawmills and one quarry. The latter can be built at the place for mining stones at the bottom of the map. Train scouts who will help you fight off the final assault of the walking dead.

The last bunker

The task is unlocked after completing the “Hidden Settlement” mission.

Goal:

  • Get an artifact.
  • The hero must get out of the fortress alive.
  • Additionally: get valuable items for the Empire (120).
  • Optional: Get Ancient Technologies (200).

This is the first task that the hero performs. You do not have access to base expansion, and the activity has moved into an enclosed space. Select the hero and go right, interacting with the automatic doors. On the other side is a group of zombies. Kill them and interact with the two filing cabinets located at the entrance. For each you will receive 30 Science Points. Click on the two books on the tables to get 20 Empire Points each. Then go to the overturned cabinet in the east corner of the room to get 20 Science Points. Go through the northern doors, kill the enemy and interact with the backpack in the corner to earn 20 Empire Points. Follow the room to the southwest.

Interact with the first aid kit by the wall. When activated, the health points of the hero and allies are restored. When fighting enemies in this room, use the moat, which slows down their movement. Go to the next room to find another object behind the door, giving 30 science points.

Move deeper into the corridor and go up to two soldiers to join you. Their presence will simplify the task. Go ahead, select an attack (Q key) and shoot the barrel to destroy all the undead. Before continuing, inspect the four barrels against the wall for a total of 40 Empire Points.

Go to another room and place a squad under the obstacle. This will allow fighters to shoot at enemies while holding them back. Destroy everyone, and then move to the end of the room. On the west side there is a chest with 30 science points, and on the other side there is an object that looks like a large washing machine, rewarding with a few more points. Go through the door to the east.

Kill enemies and start collecting items. Near the entrance, there are golden handcuffs on the table, giving 30 science points. Near them you will find another first aid kit, and next to them is an object in the form of a washing machine, which gives 30 science points. In the southern part of the room is the objective of the quest – an artifact. Take it to complete the task. Now you need to go back to the starting point and interact with the stairs to leave the building.

Completing this mission will unlock new quests. Spend the earned science points to unlock new technologies. It is advisable to select “Logistics” and “Gold delivery”. In the first case, the reserves of raw materials will increase to 20, in the second, each arriving train will give 200 units of gold.

Crossroads

In this task, you must destroy all infected in 30 days, while gaining a population of 400 people. As always, the main building must not be infected or destroyed.

Evolve gradually, destroying zombies from the west and east. Sometimes single enemies will come from the north. There are many mutants in the upper left corner of the map, however you will find resources there. When you accumulate an army, go to the upper right corner, to the den of the infected. They will constantly spawn from buildings, so destroy them as soon as possible. Once all buildings are destroyed and the population counter reaches 400, the mission will be completed.

Hunting meadow

How to unlock : After the “Hidden Settlement” quest.

Mission objectives :

  • Population: 600.
  • Distinctive features of the map: “Fertile soil” (+ 30% to food production on farms and hunting lodges).

Tips :

  • There are no enemy hordes here, so it makes no sense to create two-row walls full of troops.
  • Remember that you will be constantly attacked by lone zombies (or small units), so you need to surround the base with a wall so that the enemy cannot get inside. One infected house spawns additional zombies and the situation can quickly spiral out of control.
  • Your goal is to gain 600 population, without having to kill enemies all over the map.

As in the “Hidden Settlement” quest, the main building and a small scouting party will initially be available. Place three tents and start by scouting around the starting area, killing individual zombies. When you get gold, then set up two hunter’s huts and a sawmill, and spend the remaining “money” on additional tents. Continue to defend the area from enemies.

When you get a new portion of gold, then install Tesla’s tower to the southwest of the starting area, approaching the stones. When the tower is ready, place a quarry and create some tents. By the end of the second day, you should have scouts along the edges of the base – the undead will gradually creep in your direction. Place the second Tesla Tower in the southeast, next to the trees, and then create another hunter’s hut and sawmill.

You also need to strengthen the walls with gates and towers. When you have collected enough stone, then create barracks and start training new soldiers, constantly placing towers around the base. A wall is built around the base. Create a small squad of scouts and start expanding to get more food sources. Set up tents constantly. Eventually, you will reach your target of 600 people. If you do this, the mission will be completed.

Communication center “Alpha”

To unlock, complete the Crossroads quest. Mission objectives:

  • Get an artifact.
  • The hero must get out alive.
  • (Optional) Get valuable items for Empire Points (120).
  • (Optional) Obtain Ancient Technologies (250 points).

Advice:

  • Pay attention to the sources of additional technology points and the Empire, since the former accelerate technological development, and the latter make it easier to fight the hordes of zombies that have already appeared on the map.
  • Before entering the open room, rescue the snipers, which will make future battles easier. You have to face hundreds of opponents.
  • Grenades appear for the first time in this mission. They can destroy dozens of opponents, so do not spend them on killing small groups.

Once the quest begins, ignore the entrance to the complex and head north. Kill the enemies and collect the grenades from the box under the wall. With their help, you can destroy groups of opponents: one grenade can kill several dozen monsters due to the large radius of destruction. However, do not forget that the explosion can hurt your soldiers too.

Go to the building, kill the enemies and take the first aid kit from the item in the northern corner of the room. Move forward, go to the fork and look into the room on the right. There is a new enemy here – Chubby, to destroy which you will have to make a lot of shots. Shoot a few times, then back off and attack again until he falls. Don’t let him attack the hero as the damage will be huge.

In the room with Chubby, you will find several items for interaction: a chest against the wall with 30 technology points, two barrels at the end of the room, giving 30 Empire points. Leave the room and go to the opposite left side. Between the beds on the right there is a chest with 30 tech points, on the left, near the slab – 20 Empire points. Walk through the room and find yourself in an open space where there is a chest with a grenade.

Return to the fork and go through the covered doors. Stand behind the obstacle and shoot at enemies. Go right to find a new group of zombies. There is a chest with a first aid kit in the corpse room. Go to the next room with many enemies. Kill them and go down to where there is another first aid kit. Follow the new section.

Deal with the mutants, then run down and take two grenades from the chest. Don’t waste time on enemies: there is a hole from which they will appear endlessly. Move north to the pipe room where the walkers will be. Use pipes as cover and defeat opponents by shooting from a safe distance. Follow east to the next passage.

The new room has two objects to interact with: a box in the right corner and an object in the upper left corner. For each you will receive 30 technology points. Continue to the fork, go right, where you will meet the enemy, you will find a box with 30 technology points and a first aid kit.

Return to the fork and head down the other stairs to the right. Enemies will run out of the room. Kill them, in the next room you can find a great rarity – 5 veteran snipers, whose combat skills will help you to complete the task. Save everyone and collect 30 technology points from the box in the upper right corner of the room. Return to the fork and head up the stairs.

You will be taken to a huge open area with enemies. Use snipers to destroy them by exploding barrels. One such barrel can kill several dozen opponents. Don’t forget about pomegranates. Your hero must have at least 7 pieces. Move north to find a first aid kit. In the western part of the open area, near one of the companions, there is a chest with 30 tech points.

You will reach the entrance to the last room. Kill enemies and collect items: 3 books, giving 20 technology points and 40 Empire points. There is also an artifact required by the assignment. Leave the room and head south. You will see a hole in the fence. Follow through it and turn west. Go through the trees and destroy one of the obstacles to collect items that give 30 technology and empire points each. You can now return to your starting point.

Armory

To unlock, complete the Hunting Meadow quest. Mission objectives:

  • Get an artifact.
  • The hero must get out alive.
  • (Optional) Get valuable Empire Points (190).
  • (Optional) Obtain Ancient Technologies (360 points).

As soon as the task begins, move to the left side. Go through the enemies hiding behind the trees and at the end of the path you will find a chest with 4 grenades. Collect them, return to the main path and enter the complex. Among the trees on the right in front of the building, there are only enemies.

Make your way through the hordes of zombies and open the door on the left. Shoot the barrel to get rid of most of the enemies, then fight off the next waves of opponents. After a few meters, you will find a chest with 30 tech points against the wall to the right. There are two of the same in the middle of the passage and by the wall near its end.

Return to the corridor next to the main entrance and go to the room on the right. There will be a production line with enemies. Use obstacles to easily remove them. In the corner of the room is a chest with 30 tech points. Make your way through the enemies to the hole in the wall to the east. After passing through it, pick up 60 technology points from the other two chests near the tent.

Follow the production line room and head north to the next section. There is a first aid kit and a container with 30 technology points. Go back to the main hall and head northeast. There are several turrets in the narrow passage.

Get ready and then open the door. Enemies will literally rush in. Stand behind the turrets and wait for them to destroy all enemies. Now go to the room where the zombies were and collect additional technology points (90 of the 3 chests on the beds) and a first aid kit. Go through the hole in the wall on the right and go down between the trees to find a container with 20 Empire Points.

Follow the door on the left to reach the minefield. It is not dangerous. Return to the room with the turrets and go to the end of the corridor. Go through the hole in the wall to find enemies and 4 grenades. Return to the turrets and go through the locked doors to reach the assembly line. There is a first aid kit on the right side of the room. Head northwest and find a first aid kit with 2 grenades. Move through the hole in the wall to find 4 more grenades.

Walk back to the minefield and open the doors to the north. The room is full of powerful mutants from the previous chapter. Lure them out and bring them to the mines. Repeat actions until you destroy enemies. Go to the room where they were and collect the items: the bookcase in the corner gives 30 technology points, similar to the cabinet below, there are 10 Empire points in 3 barrels, and another 20 technology points are hidden in a box.

Go to the next room where there are many opponents. You can destroy them with grenades or lure them into a minefield. The room contains a first aid kit and a candlestick that gives 20 Empire points. In the last room you will find an artifact. In addition, there is a painting (30 Empire points), 2 boxes with documents (30 technology points each) and a clock in the corner (30 Empire points). You can return to the starting area and leave the mission area.

Zombie Horde # 1

To unlock, complete the Crossroads quest. Mission objectives:

  • Destroy all infected.
  • Stay alive after all the hordes.

Advice:

  • If you wish, use scouts to distract some enemies.
  • Before starting the quest, you must have at least 1000 Empire Points. You can get them by completing the previous tasks.
  • You can make the battle easier by training several scouts at the beginning. Send them to different points on the map and use them to distract enemies in order to increase their route towards your outpost.
  • Don’t waste resources on defensive structures: it’s better to train your soldiers.

In these tasks, your goal is to destroy all enemies on the map and not allow them to destroy or infect any building located in the center. You will not have your own base. Instead, you get a certain amount of Empire points, which are earned during story missions for the main character. Spend them on new units or fortifications in the same way as in other modes. If you make a mistake during deployment, you can delete the squad without any penalties, but on condition that the mission has not yet begun.

You need to kill 1000 infected. However, they attack slowly. The easiest way is to place soldiers around the building, dividing them between four different directions – north, south, east and west. Most opponents won’t even get close to them. As soon as the squads are placed, click on the “Start” button. Remember to react not to the current situation. If one of the side cannot cope with the enemies, then send other soldiers to help them. If one of the soldiers received a lot of damage, then order him to retreat and restore health points.

Zombie Horde # 2

How to unlock: Complete the Crossroads mission. Mission objectives:

  • Destroy all infected.
  • Stay alive after all the hordes.

Advice:

  • Use scouts to distract opponents.
  • You need to start the task with at least 1150 Empire points. Complete the previous tasks.
  • You need to destroy fewer enemies than in the previous mission, but they are more mobile and more dangerous.
  • 40-60 Empire Points are needed to set obstacles.

The mission is no different from the previous one: you need to protect the building in the center of the map, killing all the zombies with the help of available units purchased for Empire points. You must defeat at least 600 enemies. However, they will now be runners, moving faster than normal mutants. Place 4 scouts in two locations on the map – two in the south and east. Spend points on soldiers and place them around the building you are defending. Finally, spend 40-60 Empire Points building barricades in narrow passages – for example, between trees.

As soon as the mission begins, use the scouts located at the edges to distract the attention of enemies. If you cannot control several fighters at the same time, then use the active pause (“Space”) to issue orders. Thanks to the distraction, you will avoid situations where all the enemies at once appear at the outpost.

Place soldiers so that they can react to enemy actions. If more zombies attack from one side, then send part of the rest of the army there. Don’t forget about distraction. When the number of enemies drops to about a third (200), then kill the remaining soldiers to complete the task.

Zombie Horde # 3

To unlock, complete the Crossroads quest. Mission objectives:

  • Destroy all infected.
  • Stay alive after all the hordes.

Advice:

  • Despite the fact that there are two paths leading to your outpost, the mission will be quite difficult. Each of the 600 zombies is a runner, so they will need to be destroyed as soon as possible. The key to success will be to set up 2-3 rows of barricades that will temporarily delay opponents.
  • The mission can be completed with just over 1000 Empire points. If you are experiencing problems, you can complete additional tasks for the main character.
  • The scouts are useless in this case. The soldiers do more damage and there isn’t much room in the aisles to try to distract the zombies.

As always, you need to defend the building in the center of the map. Enemies are coming from the north and south. Divide the available Empire points into two equal parts and install 2-3 rows of fences in the north and in the south. Then use the remaining recruiting points and place them behind the barricades.

When the mission starts, keep an eye on the condition of the fences. If they begin to fall apart, and the enemies are attacking the soldiers, then push them back as soon as the health pool falls below a third. If one of the groups defeated all enemies, then move it to the other side to help the second unit.

Bone coast

How to unlock: Complete the Crossroads mission. Mission objectives:

  • Destroy all infected.
  • Population: 800.
  • Survive the attack of all hordes.
  • Special properties of the card: “Rich fishing” (+ 30% to food obtained through fishing houses).

Advice:

  • Start defending the base for 3-4 days. From that moment on, lonely enemies will attack her. Some of them will be runners capable of infecting an entire colony in seconds.
  • During the last horde on day 48, your base will be attacked from the west and east. Set up fortifications there and recruit several dozen units. Soldiers preferred!
  • Do not forget to build fishermen’s huts, which receive a bonus on this map. A population of 800 will need a lot of food.

Start by building three tents, a fisherman’s and a hunter’s huts. Then place two more tents and a sawmill. Use the remaining gold to build additional huts. Send soldiers to clear the area east of the starting area. Expand eastward to find rock deposits. Place a quarry there. Then expand north to build a second sawmill.

Do not forget to regularly create fishermen’s huts, because they will save you from hunger. Start rebuilding the defensive walls around day four as individual zombies will spawn. There will be many runners among them. When you create several additional units, then destroy the infected buildings in the village located north of the starting position. Build another mine there to get iron.

In the meantime, set up a wood workshop and start inventing new technologies, including a stone house. Upgrade your tent. For about day 15, build a solid double wall on the north side and begin the massive recruitment of soldiers. On day 19, the first horde of 100 zombies will appear.

In the following days, continue to expand, increase the population and recruit new soldiers. The second horde will appear on day 32, and the last one will attack you on day 48. In the last horde, enemies will go from the east and west at the same time. Complete the mission to unlock the Cape of the Storm mission and another Zombie Horde.

Zombie Horde # 4

How to unlock: After the “Bone Coast” quest. Mission objectives:

  • Destroy all infected.
  • Stay alive after all the hordes.

Advice:

  • You have to kill 10,000 opponents, but they are all ordinary, slow zombies, so the soldiers are ideal for the task at hand.
  • Do not waste points on scouts, as there is no need to distract the attention of walkers. In general, they are worse than soldiers.
  • The situation is similar with barricades: you don’t need to install them! Enemies come from all directions, and there are few narrow passages on the map where the enemy could be blocked.

Spend Empire points on hiring soldiers and place them around the building in 2-3 rows. After starting the mission, wait for the appearance of enemies from all sides. The soldiers will deal with them without too much trouble. Only a few zombies will be able to get close to your soldiers. If things are better on one of the fronts (soldiers kill zombies as soon as they get within the radius of destruction), then move a couple of people to the other side, where it is harder to deal with zombies.

Narrow pass

To unlock, complete the Crossroads quest. Mission objectives:

  • Destroy all infected.
  • Population: 1000.
  • Hold out during a zombie attack.

Advice:

  • It is necessary to build a quarry as soon as possible near the stone deposits. Then you must create a barracks and start hiring soldiers.
  • Stretch your base along the northeastern part of the map and capture an iron deposit. Thanks to this, you will be able to train soldiers. Collect them when they become available.
  • During the next attacks, pay attention not only to the side the zombies are coming from. Enemies will move from other directions, albeit in a smaller group.

Start by setting up three tents. Then build 2 fisherman huts and 2 additional tents. When you get gold, then build a sawmill near the trees located northwest of the main building. You will need to create a Tesla tower.

Send your scouts to the southeast to find a deposit of stone. Clear the area and build a quarry. Build your barracks and start training your scouts as soon as possible. Build one Tesla tower near each passage (two from the north and two from the south) and block the openings with walls. Enemies will attack you starting from the third day. Start expanding towards the northeast. There you will find iron deposits. Increase the base energy range and create a new quarry to start collecting iron. Start training your soldiers.

At the end of day 14, begin preparing for the first horde attack. Build another wall behind the existing ones and place 2-3 towers. Wait for a message about the direction of attack, and then place most of your forces in the right place. The first wave will be really difficult.

From now on, your task is to recruit 1000 settlers, so start expanding. Try to focus on individual trails: place strong fortifications there for 2/3 of their length, and then move on to the next road. New waves of zombies will arrive on days 25, 35 and 45 (last). During the last battle, enemies will come from all directions. After completing this quest, you will gain access to the “Lonely Forest”.

Raven Mines

How to unlock: Complete the “Hunting Meadow” quest. Mission objectives:

  • Population: 700.
  • Gold production: 200.

Advice:

  • Despite the lack of objectives related to the destruction of enemies, you should train new units, since the colony is still in danger.
  • The key to success is placing a large number of homes, but don’t leave them unprotected.
  • Use the gold deposits located in the corners of the map. Build quarries there to get 200-300 units for each such building.
  • The tavern is very useful in this mission. Its presence in the immediate vicinity of houses increases the amount of gold mined. In addition, this building allows you to receive veteran titles.

We recommend unlocking technologies for placing and building a tavern! It will significantly increase gold production. Start by building 3 tents, 2 hunter’s huts and 2 more tents. After receiving a portion of gold add 2 sawmills. First, expand south to find rock deposits and build a quarry there.

As soon as you collect enough resources, then build a barracks and start hiring scouts. Try to create some additional sawmills as this will require a lot of wood. For about day 5, surround the base with a wall to stop opponents. The iron deposit is located north of the starting point. Expand in this direction as soon as possible and start mining it to start training soldiers.

The first zombie horde will arrive on day 18. Build a second wall and train more soldiers before opponents arrive. Another horde will appear on day 30. Once you finish defending your lands, concentrate on developing the colony and build additional houses to increase your income. If you have access to a tavern, then build it near the largest cluster of houses.

Notice the 4 icons on the minimap. They indicate the location of gold deposits. If you go there and place quarries there, then you will increase your income by 200-300 units per building. This is a very good increase in this mission. For completing the quest, you will unlock access to the Lands of Giants.

Land of the Giants

How to unlock: Complete the mission “Raven Mines”. Mission Objectives:

  • Destroy all infected.
  • Population: 1000.
  • Special properties of the card: “Very cold weather” (energy consumption of buildings increases by 30%).

Advice:

  • Don’t even think about attacking the infected giant. He deals great damage that kills any soldier from the units available at the moment. Moreover, his attacks inflict damage over a small area, that is, the giant can kill up to 10 soldiers at a time.
  • You will not be attacked by hordes of undead. However, the base will be attacked by small groups of mutants. Surround your colony with walls!
  • Snipers will be very helpful in this mission. They deal great damage to infected giants, while attacking from a distance. To unlock snipers, you need to buy Telescope technology.

Note the special property of the card! Each house requires 30% more energy. This means that you will need to build more buildings that generate this resource. Look at the minimap to find a unique enemy in the upper right corner – an infected giant. He needs to be defeated, but in any case do not rush. Eliminating the enemy unceremoniously will not work.

Start by placing 3 tents, 2 hunter huts and 5 additional tents. After obtaining gold, install 2 sawmills. Start expanding to the northeast, where you will find rock deposits. Build a quarry there, then create Tesla towers around your territory. Then set up the first line of defense with walls to surround the base. There is no need to be afraid of a horde attack. They are not here!

Keep expanding until you get 1000 people. Train new fighters in parallel – the more, the better. Establish a line of defense in the northern part of the map by building 2 walls and 2 lines of towers behind them. Place soldiers on the walls. When the line of defense is ready, then approach the infected giant and lure him to the walls. Your army must deal with it quickly. The last thing to do is finish off the remaining zombies. The mission will open access to the “Frozen Lake” mission.

Cape of the Storm

How to unlock: Complete the “Bone Coast” quest. Mission objectives:

  • Population: 1500.
  • Hold out during the attack of all hordes.
  • Special properties of the card: “Rich agriculture” (+ 30% to food obtained from farms).

Advice:

  • Until day 50, there won’t be a single horde of undead! Use this time to clear the map and take the west side of the launch pad. There you will find many places for building farms, as well as deposits of gold, stone and iron.
  • Each new day will bring you more and more zombies that will cross the bridge located to the north of the base. Continue to send some of your troops there to defend the fortifications.
  • For your own safety, you need to build an additional two-lane bridge under the main one. This will allow the withdrawal of soldiers in case the enemy breaks through the first line of defense.
  • Snipers are very effective and are ideal for taking out big guys. There are many of them on the map, and in the final wave there will be even more.

Remember the ability of the card, which increases food produced on farms. Start by setting up 3 tents, a fisherman’s and a hunter’s huts, and then place a sawmill and quarry. Next, start building additional tents. Send a small part of your starting army to clear a path north, and then place one scout in the tower near the north wall. This fighter will stop several waves of enemies coming from the north. The undead horde will come across the bridge located just to the north.

Build your barracks and start recruiting new units as soon as possible. Use them to clear the rest of the map, however the island contains several hundred infected. Once you kill them, new enemies will no longer appear. Capture the entire western part of the map, where there are many deposits of gold, stone and iron. Enemies will no longer attack you from the west. This means that there is no need to deploy troops or build fortifications.

During the mission, you will encounter big guys for the first time (except for tactical missions). This is a zombie in good armor. Make sure to keep them away from your soldiers, as they can be killed by 2-3 hits. Start recruiting more troops around day 40. Basically, these should be soldiers and snipers. Build a solid double walled fortification on the bridge north of the base. For his safety, it is better to install additional rows of walls if the first line of defense is suddenly destroyed.

On day 50, a huge horde of undead will appear from the bridge. This is the largest horde you have encountered so far. You have to kill several thousand enemies, including big ones.

Zombie Horde # 5

To unlock, complete the Giant Lands quest. Mission objectives:

  • Destroy all infected.
  • Stay alive after all the hordes.

Advice:

  • The combination of turrets, soldiers, and stake traps is the best. Another good tactic is two rows of soldiers with a lot of traps.
  • Do not place traps with stakes too far away, as zombies begin to regenerate health points 2-3 seconds after taking the last damage. Place them closer to your soldiers so the soldiers can get into range.
  • All enemies are runners, so don’t waste points on scouts as they won’t be able to deal with them. The same goes for snipers – they shoot too slowly.

You can greatly simplify this task by unlocking two defensive structures – wasps and traps. The first is the automatic turret familiar from the campaign, and the second is a defensive device that damages undead and slows their movement. Start by creating turrets around the building you want to defend. Place them right in the circle. Place soldiers behind these turrets. This step depends on the number of Empire points.

Use about 100 points to place stake traps on the trails. Enemies will come from the north, west, south and east, as well as – diagonally. When you’re ready, start a defense. Watch the battlefield. If the enemies begin to break through one of the lines, then pull additional forces to it.

Frozen lake

How to unlock: Complete the “Land of the Giant” quest. Mission objectives:

  • Population: 1500.
  • Eliminate all infected.
  • Survive all horde attacks.
  • Destroy all infected villages.
  • Limitation: the mission must be completed in 80 days.
  • Special properties of the card: “Rich fishing” (+ 30% to food obtained from fishing huts), “Slow terrain” (-20% to the movement speed of units) and “Cold weather” (+ 30% to electricity consumption of buildings).

Advice:

  • The map is full of trees. Use them to place many hunter houses and sawmills.
  • Given the increased demand for energy, it is worth investing in several power plants if you already have access to them. They will provide significantly more power than mills, and the map is full of firewood to maintain them.
  • Don’t forget that your troops will move 20% slower. Keep this in mind before starting your defense.
  • If there is not enough food, then in the south you can find spacious areas where you can build farms.

Start by building 3 tents, 2 fisherman’s huts and a sawmill. Then spend extra gold on new tents. First of all, focus on expanding to the northwest, where there are deposits of stone. Build a quarry there to start mining this resource. Take your time heading west as there is an infected village in that area. Clear the area of lone enemies and expand to the east. There you will find individual infected buildings and iron deposits.

Try to surround the base with a wall as soon as possible. There are many runners in this area, which is associated with the very village. It is necessary to limit their movement and the possibility of infecting civilians. The first horde of undead will arrive on day 15. It will appear from an arbitrary direction, but most likely it will be north. Set up a double wall there and train some soldiers.

Subsequent waves of undead will arrive on days 30 and 45. The last wave will appear on day 61, and zombies will come from all directions: west, east, north and south. Use the fact that you have a long time before the last horde arrives to take over the entire map. You must do this as farms are limited in the north (more in the south).

Build fortifications on the western, eastern, southern and northern edges of the map. This must be done before starting the final battle. Place 2 rows of walls, several towers, dozens of soldiers and snipers, and 2-3 rows of staked traps.

Lowland

To unlock, complete the “Frozen Lake” quest. Mission objectives:

  • Population: 1500.
  • Limit: complete the mission in 70 days.

Advice:

  • Take your time to expand and fight the zombies located around the base. A large part of them are runners who can infect your units.
  • It is necessary to clear the map gradually, sending large strike teams instead of deploying troops across its entire surface. It is also recommended to expand to the south, where there are fewer infected.
  • Try to quickly surround the base with a wall. Enemies start near her. One runner can infect several buildings, and if this happens, the mission will fail.
  • Turrets are perfect for the mission. They do an excellent job of protecting extended parts of the base from several opponents at once. And the cost of their installation is low.

Start by building 3 tents, fisherman’s and hunter’s huts. Once you have enough gold, place the sawmill. If you have additional funds, then spend them on new tents. Quickly place a quarry near a stone deposit that is near the main building. Clear the area around the base, but don’t get too much attention. Build your barracks as soon as possible and start training your soldiers. The first horde will arrive on day 18! In addition, there are a lot of individual enemies around you. Surround the base with a single-row wall for 4-5 days to stop attacks.

Start expanding to the south, where there will be fewer enemies than in the north. This will make the expansion process smoother. Build fortifications on day 15, as the horde spawns at 18. Most likely, the infected will come from the north, so as many fortifications and soldiers should be placed there. After defeating the first wave, focus on rapidly expanding your population. You may be able to reach the designated number (1500) before the second horde arrives.
