Walkthrough The Walking Dead: The Final Season. Episode 2

Complete walkthrough of the second episode of the final season about the adventures of Clementine and little AJ

The second episode of The Walking Dead: The Final Season was released on September 25, 2018. Telltale ‘s The Walking Dead is a post-apocalyptic zombie action game in which you have to “get into” the shoes of young Clementine and help her and her little “companion” AJ survive in a harsh, zombie-infested world.

The game concept has not changed – you will still have to communicate with local characters most of the time, make some choices (which actually have little effect) and occasionally perform various QTEs. Oh yes, this time they will give more archery, but despite this, the interactivity in this episode is even less than in the previous one.

However, judging by the latest news, the situation in the bowels of the developer company is critical. Most of the employees were laid off and most likely the final season will be the last game that the studio will release. Let’s hope that at least they can release it, otherwise leaving a story that has been going on for six years without a proper ending is completely sad.

In the meantime, we want to tell you what the main characters had to go through in the second episode, what choices fell to their lot and what came of it all. Naturally, there will be spoilers here, so those who haven’t played the game yet should refrain from reading.

Note

Throughout the game, you will have a large number of all kinds of dialogues in which you can choose different answer options. However, as practice shows, these options do not seriously affect anything. All the main plot twists, which you can somehow influence, will take place almost at the very end of the episode. Unless, in dialogues with AJ, you should think about what to choose, since you shape his character and worldview, which in the end may affect the events of future episodes. However, until we see, we will not know.

Impact of the previous episode

  • If in the last episode you threw Abel out of the window into the crowd of “walkers” in an abandoned house, then in this episode he will be without one arm.
  • All the collectibles you collected in Episode 1 will be on display in Clementine’s room.
  • If in the last episode Tenn drew a drawing for you, then this “picture” will be present on the wall here too.

Act 1

The episode begins the morning after the murder of Marlon and Brody. A.J. has made coffee for Clem and a conversation takes place between them. They recall the events of the previous night, and the boy asks Clementine if he is the killer. Depending on your answer, AJ will feel differently at the end of the episode. During their conversation, Tenn enters the room and invites the guys to a fast funeral, despite the fact that most of them do not like them there. Then the boy gives A.J. a fireman figurine, and he in turn can either take it or refuse. It depends on whether you acquitted him or forced him to repent of what he did.

After the conversation, the guys go to the funeral. All children are present at the mourning event. Tenn puts his drawings on the graves of the dead. Violet tries to make a speech, but cannot, as she hates Marlon for what he did. Mitch, seeing the main characters, begins to get angry and blames them for everything that happened. In response to accusations against him, AJ may repent or admit his mistake. It depends on what you told him in the room. However, despite this, the group decides to vote on the expulsion of Clem and A.J. from the community. During this time, the guys return to their room.

Funeral of Marlon and Brody

During the tedious waiting for the results of the vote, the guys are pretty nervous. AJ kicks the wall in a fit of rage. Clementine tries to calm him down. Both of them, of course, do not want to leave the walls of the school. Despite any apologies from the main characters, the children decide to expel them. Violet and Louis, who entered the room, inform them of this. Violet is not happy with the voting results and does not want the guys to leave at all. Louis is at a loss and also, apparently, does not want this, however, he cannot go against the decision of others. Before leaving, Louis will ask the boy to give him the gun. Do it or not, you decide. If you give him the weapon, he will later return it to you anyway. As a result, Louis and Violet are going to escort the main characters out of safe territory. “Seeing off” bring the guys to the edge of the safe zone and say goodbye to them. Violet doesn’t want that at all. Louis gives the gun to the boy, and if he had one, he just wants him to be careful.

Moving further through the forest, the children almost die from a sudden shot. Hiding behind the trees, they saw in the arrow the very Abel, who wanted to take food from them in the last episode. Sneakly attacking Abel, Clem catches him by surprise. You can try to finish him off, or you can ask him to lag behind you. Regardless of what you choose, a gun will be presented to you from behind. She throws you to the ground, and Abel captures young AJ. The shooter is a certain woman. She asks you about everything you may know about the school and its residents. Turning you to face us, we recognize this woman. This is Lilly. The same Lilly who was present in the plot of the first season of the game. She recognizes Clementine and offers her a helping hand. You can accept it or refuse it. Lilly concludes that Lee (the protagonist of the first season) is dead, since he is not near Clem. A dialogue arises between the girl and the woman, during which Lilly convinces the girl to return to school and persuade everyone to give up.

The same Lilly from the first season

At this time, Clementine notices Violet and Louis sneaking up to them. You can shout to them to run or to have Violet shoot Lilly. If you choose the second option, then the woman will be injured, like Louis at the hands of Abel. During a mess, the main characters manage to escape. As the chase progresses, you will have to quickly use QTE. As a result, the boy will be injured. In addition, the heroes are surrounded by “walkers”. By some miracle, a stranger dressed in zombie skin rescues them and takes them away from the herd.

Upon arrival at the “savior” camp, the latter tells the heroine to extract a fraction from the boy’s body. She does this, however, the boy’s temperature rises and he gets worse and worse. In order to recover from his injury, he needs to return to school. During a conversation with a stranger, it is revealed that his name is James. He himself is from Washington. Was a member of a group that called itself “The Whisperer.” However, he left their ranks due to their destruction and violence. He also told Clementine about the raiders, which include Abel and Lilly. This gang is at war with another community and they need reinforcements. Children fit this role more than ever, and soon they will descend on school again. During the conversation, a non-aggressive “walker” will appear and you will have a choice whether to kill him or distract him, as James wants. If you kill the zombies, the guy will get a little upset. If you leave the monster to live, the “altruist” will be pleased. Also, during their dialogue, you will have several different choices, depending on which James will feel that he is trusted. For example, eat an apple that he offers you. Or tell him where you are from.

A stranger named James

In the morning, three children come to the school, but James is not going to go there, as he does not yet trust them. Exhausted, Clem can no longer carry AJ and falls to the ground. Luis runs up to help her, takes the wounded baby and they go inside.

Act 2

Louis brings the boy to the second floor of the office building, where Ruby can patch him up. At this time, Violet wants to talk to Clem in private. Clementine tells her what happened, says she knows the woman. She also says that the raiders are planning to attack the school and take all the children to their camp. There they will be made a soldier and sent into battle with another community. Clem suggests strengthening the defenses. To do this, they need to set up sentinels, strengthen themselves from the inside, and dig in. To prevent the raiders from bypassing them from behind and from the side, you need to enclose all the walls with barbed wire. Their conversation is interrupted by Mitch, who is negative. He begins to argue with Violet and Clem, suggesting that the latter is at the same time with the raiders. The girls try to convince him otherwise. In the end, Violet sends Mitch, Clem and Ruby to an abandoned greenhouse to find barbed wire there.

Clem and Violet argue with Mitch

Having reached the greenhouse, the guys understand that it is locked, and you can get inside only through an open window on the roof. Despite all the controversy, who will go first, Clem will eventually do it. Once inside, the girl awakens several walkers and effortlessly kills them. Having unlocked the door from the inside, the guys start looking for barbed wire. It can be found in a locked cabinet, which can be unlocked with a pry bar. You will find it on the shelf to the right of the entrance. By the way, in addition to the mount in this room, you can find one collectible, namely a mushroom. A boar skull can be found in front of the greenhouse entrance.

Mitch tells the girls that there is a local school lab here and it would be nice to find some propane there so he can make some bombs. The guys enter the laboratory, but they are met by a trapped “walker”. Ruby realizes that this is their former nurse who stayed here when the zombie apocalypse began. At this point, you can show empathy for Ruby and the former nurse. Or, on the contrary, speak out more cynically and say that this is just a fertilizer for plants. This may change your relationship with Ruby slightly.

What’s left of a nurse

Having found the required amount of propane, the guys will be going to the exit, but Ruby will urge you to bury the nurse humanly. Mitch will react negatively to this and will not want to take part in it. You have a choice. If you agree, Ruby will not forget this and will be grateful to you. If not, then she will be disgusted with you.

Next, the action is transferred to Clem’s room. Louis comes to the heroes and brings several sets of clothes for A.J. A dialogue takes place between them, during which the boy expresses the hope that he and Luis are friends again. The latter does not speak openly about this, but most likely he is of the same opinion.

Two weeks pass. The children completely organized the defense, prepared thoroughly, but the raiders did not attack. During this time, little AJ practically recovered from his wounds. One night Clementine has a nightmare, after which she wakes up and sees AJ sitting “on the cortons”. The boy thought for a long time about past events and decided to become brave. He made a knife for himself and went on patrol, but Clem convinced him that it was a bad idea. As a result, the boy goes to bed in the same bed with Clem and they fall asleep.

A.J. “on the cortons”

Act 3

The next morning the guys go out into the yard. Kid AJ runs to the watchtower to Tenn, and Clem has to talk to all the children in the yard. Walking up to Luis, you can practice archery, this will come in handy later. In the yard, you will also chat with Tenn, Mitch, Rosie the dog, and finally, Violet. After talking with her, Aasim and Willie, arguing with each other, will leave the building. They have two versions about raider traps. You can support a variant of one of them. In the end, this will not particularly affect the plot, just the cut-scene will be slightly different. As a result, the guys swear, and Willie hits Aasim.

Willie beats Aasim

To defuse the situation, Louis suggests playing a card game called Truth or Dare. Here you have to answer one comic question and ask Aasim to do one of two things: either kiss Ruby, or the head of the killed “walker”. In both cases, it will amuse the children. You will also have the opportunity to support or, on the contrary, disagree with Tenn in his thoughts. He will remember this.

After the card game, you will have one of the key choices: follow Luis or follow Violet.

Violet

Kiss with Violet

The heroine and her friend go to the roof of the bell tower. During the conversation, you will have a small mini-game, the meaning of which is to draw constellations. In the process of a sincere dialogue, you have the opportunity to remain best friends with Violet, or take your relationship to a “new level”. Naturally there is the possibility of a kiss. After that, the guys will call you back downstairs.

Louis

Kiss with Luis

If you choose Luis, he will ask you to listen to how he plays the piano and then ask for help to fix it. During your conversation, you will also have the opportunity, as with Violet, to remain good friends with him, or confess your feelings to him. The kiss is attached.

After her “love” adventures, Clementine goes to the watchtower to A.J. During the conversation, the boy will ask for a “blessing” to kill Abel. You can dissuade him from this by saying that you cannot think so lightly about murder. Then he will offer you to play “rock, paper, scissors” and if he wins, then you change your mind. Here you either stand your ground or play. A few minutes later, the guys notice the approaching raiders, along with a horse and a cage for prisoners.

Clem gathers all the children in the yard and invites everyone to hide when the raiders enter the school grounds. She will distract the attention of the invaders, while Willie and Mitch will be able to plant and light a bomb. During the conversation, a shot is fired and a bullet wounds Omar, one of the children. Raiders break through the main entrance and try to find the hidden children.

At this time, Clementine comes out of hiding with a bow at the ready and orders Lilly to get out of here. A dialogue takes place between them, during which you can shoot the villainess, but then you will be immediately shot and the game will end. Clem’s main goal is to play for time and distract attention while Mitch and Willie plant the bomb. Lilly is also not a miss, she decides to put pressure on the psyche of the children and talks about the already captured Tenn sisters, about how happy they are. Tenn breaks down, comes out of hiding and asks about his sisters.

There are two small options here.

First , you can convince him that Lilly is lying, and you should not believe her. Then she takes Tenn hostage and begins to threaten. Second : you threaten Lilly and tell her that she will not be able to take anyone away from you anymore. In this case, Tenn does not allow himself to be captured. In any case, an explosion occurs at this moment.

A firefight begins. Mitch attacks Lilly, but is killed by her knife. He dies in any case and in any outcome, regardless of how you talked to him. Children run into the building, the raiders follow them. The guys wait for the right moment and use a trap invented by either Aasim or Willie. One of the raiders dies.

Clem and A.J. run into one of the offices and climb to lock the door, but Abel does not let them do it. As a result, Clementine and the raider fight, and the girl wins the battle, throwing her opponent with her. On the ground they will be met by an armed Lilly. She will want to shoot Clementine, but you can dissuade her from this, or vice versa, whip her up. In any case, either Louis or Violet will pounce on her and prevent her from doing her plan. At this point, you must make the most important choice throughout the episode – who is to save, Violet or Louis.

Who should you save: Violet or Louis?

After you make your choice, the raiders will flee, taking Omar, Aasim, and Luis (Violet) with them. The sounds of the battle have attracted a large number of “walkers” and this is where you have to apply your bow skills. After you deal with them, the children will start to recover from the massacre. They understand that they will have to rescue the captured friends, but they do not even know where the raider camp might be. And here Clem says that, on the other hand, they have someone to ask about it and they show us the captured and exhausted Abel.

This is where the episode ends.

Well, that’s all for us. If you want to check out the full walkthrough of the first episode of the final season, you can find it right here .
