Trajectory
She is an architect with an honorary degree from the Faculty of Architecture of the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana de Medellín (UPB), Colombia ( 2006 ) and Specialist in Complex Architectures from the Higher Polytechnic School of the University of Alicante , Spain (2007).
Since 2008 he has had his own professional practice: first at CtrlG architecture studio, which he founded and directs together with Catalina Patiño , ( Medellín , Colombia 2008-2015); and then at Viviana Peña Taller de Arquitectura, a studio that she founded and directs since 2015 and operates between Colombia and Spain .
He has co-authored important public projects for the city of Medellín and the region of Antioquia (Colombia), such as the Expansion of the Medellín Museum of Modern Art (MAMM), the Pajarito La Aurora, San Antonio de Prado and Carpinelo Kindergartens. , as well as the Caramanta and La Pintada Educational Parks; projects won by public, private or merit competition, currently built and inhabited.
He has also designed private single-family housing projects on the outskirts of Medellin. Simultaneously to the design of these projects he has participated in several national and international architecture competitions. He develops an open collaborative system with different architects for the development of new projects, competitions and workshops.
He is part of the Archipiélago de Arquitectura collective made up of Mesaestándar (Miguel Mesa and Juan David Díez), Plan:B ( Felipe Mesa , Federico Mesa ), Connatural (Sebastián Mejía, Edgar Mazo), Manuel Villa, Informal Office (Antonio Yemail) and Estudio Transversal (Emerson Marín and Ricardo Vásquez) and AGENdA (Camilo Restrepo Ochoa) and Luis Callejas (LCLA) taking part until 2010.
Parallel to her work as a designer architect, she has been a teacher in the Department of Architectural Projects and Representation of the Faculty of Architecture of the UPB of Medellín, between 2010 and 2016 .
She has been invited as a speaker at different architecture events such as the Public School for Architecture Brussels and Recyclart (Belgium), Iberoamerica , architecture and city ( Venezuela ) and the Latin American Forum of Architecture Students (Colombia).
