Vanessa was born in Salinas , California ( United States ), but grew up in San Diego . She is the daughter of Gina Guangco and Greg Hudgens . He has a younger sister, Stella Hudgens. His father is American-Irish and of Native American descent. His mother, who grew up in Manila ( Philippines ) has Philippine, Peruvian and Chinese descent. He studied at home after finishing seventh grade at Orange County High School of the Arts.

Film and television
Hudgens started acting at a young age, appearing in musicals at age 8, and moved to Los Angeles after winning an audition for an advertisement. He had small roles in series like The Quintuplets , Cover Me and Still Standing among others. He made his big screen debut with the movie Thirteen , playing the role of Noel. He also appeared in the 2004 film Thunderbirds. In both roles, she dated Brady Corbet .
The longest and most important role was in the Disney Channel original movie High School Musical , playing the smart and shy student Gabriella Montez. The film was released in January 2006 . Vanessa along with Zac Efron won the “Best Chemistry” award at the Teen Choice Awards for their roles in this film. Vanessa repeated her role in High School Musical 2, filmed in Utah, United States. The film premiered on 17 as August as 2007 on Disney Channel, as above. The 3 as maypole as 2008 began filming in Utah for the third part, High School Musical 3: Senior Year, which is produced by Walt Disney Pictures and will be released in theaters.

Hudgens confirmed in an interview with Teen Magazine in October 2007 that she was dating Zac Efron, her co-star on High School Musical.
Controversy
The 6 of September of 2008 the controversy erupted after provocative photos of Hudgens appeared on the Internet. Two of them showed her in provocative clothes and another completely naked. His representative indicated that the photos had been taken privately and that it was “unfortunate” that they appeared on the Internet.
