Video games allow us to live stories, travel to other worlds and do things that we wouldn’t normally do. The Sims 4 , Electronic Arts ‘ life simulator , has fulfilled the fantasies and aspirations of millions of people over the years.
If you are someone who dreams of The Sims 4 , then I have to tell you that you can make your experience much more immersive… and strange: did you know that you can play in the first person ? Yes, I am not cheating on you.
First person in The Sims 4
To activate the first person you don’t need to cheat or do weird things. This is an option in The Sims 4 that not everyone knows about. Not that the game tries too hard to show it to you. It is activated by pressing Shift + TAB on PC and the right stick on consoles.
You should keep in mind that the gameplay changes because you no longer have the isometric view. Here’s a quick overview of how the first person in The Sims 4 (PC) works:
- Right click: options to move the character.
- Left click: interact with objects.
- CTRL: center camera.
- SHIFT(maintained): control the cursor when activating any interface option.
- Space or arrows(left/right): change Sim if there are several.
If you’ve gotten tired of first person, press Shift + TAB again or ESC on PC or the same joystick on consoles. It probably won’t take long to do this because The Sims 4 isn’t set up for first-person gameplay: it causes motion sickness, you can’t set the FOV, and it slows down the game’s performance.
All in all: this is a fun feature to have different perspectives in very specific situations, to take some screenshots and to goof around for a while, but not to play during long gaming sessions.
