Where to start reading the Bible?

Reading the Bible requires a reading plan

The Bible is not a simple book, but a library of 73 very different books, with different styles and writings from distant times. Therefore, a reading plan is necessary to understand it.

The Bible explains itself. The first need for a Christian is to be sure of his salvation, to know that God loves him and has chosen him. For this reason, the first book to be studied is the 1st Letter of São João.

Then, follow the reading plan below:

1 – 1st Letter of St. John (twice)
2 – Gospel of St. John
3 – Gospel of St. Mark
4 – The small Letters of St. Paul:
Galatians;
Ephesians;
Philippians;
Colossians;
1st and 2nd Thessalonicences;
1st and 2nd Timóteo;
Titus;
Philemon;
5 – Gospel of St. Luke
6 – Acts of the Apostles
7 – Letter to the Romans
8 – Gospel of St. Matthew
9 – 1st and 2nd Letter to the Corinthians
10 – Hebrews
11 – Letter from St. James
12 – 1st and 2nd Letter from St. Peter
13 – 2nd and 3rd Letter of St. John
14 – Letter of St. Jude
15 – Revelation (Revelation)
16 – 1st Letter of Saint John (third time)
17 – Gospel of Saint John (second time).

After all this reading, the books of the Old Testament should be studied. In the meantime, take the opportunity to study and pray with the Psalms.
