1) Restart the PC

Restarting your PC solves countless problems in just a few moments. Even if your wireless display isn’t working, you can restart your PC and reconnect.

2) Check compatibility with Miracast

If your computer does not support Miracast , it is not possible to cast the screen to a wireless monitor. This could be one of the main reasons why you can’t connect your wireless monitor.

The most important thing to do is always to check the correct compatibility of your computer with Miracast.

To do this, go to Windows Settings by pressing Win + I first . Then, go to System > Projection on this PC . If you get a compatibility error message, you can’t use a wireless display with your computer, and I’m sorry to tell you that there will be no other solution to connect a wireless monitor.

3] Connect both devices to the same network

To project the screen on a wireless monitor, both devices must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. If you have multiple networks and your computer and monitor are connected to a different network, you cannot project the monitor. That’s why what I suggest you do is to make sure your devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

4] Restart and reset the adapter

If the solutions seen so far have not helped you to solve the problem related to the wireless display transmission, the problem may lie in the wireless display adapter . That is why it is recommended to restart the adapter first. If that doesn’t help, reset it later.

First, unplug the wireless display adapter from the monitor. Then, restart your monitor and plug it back in.

If it doesn’t help, you need to reset the adapter. For this, first unplug the adapter from the monitor. Then, press and hold the Reset button for at least 10 seconds or until the LED flashes.

Next, connect the adapter to the monitor and reconnect the device to the host computer.

5] Install the latest drivers

For your wireless display to function properly you need to use the latest drivers for your Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter.

To check if an update is available or not, you need to open the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter app and click the Update & Security option. So, check if an update is available or not. If so, install it accordingly.

You should also check and install the latest Windows updates.

6] Check your firewall settings

In some cases, Windows Defender Firewalls may allow or block the use of Wireless Display on your computer. If your current firewall configuration has been set to block the use of a wireless monitor, you certainly won’t be able to use the Wireless Display with your computer.

Follow these steps to check firewall settings on Windows 11/10:

  1. Open Windows Defender Firewall on your computer.
  2. Click the Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall setting.
  3. Check the Wireless Display box.
  4. Check the Private and Public checkboxes.
  5. Click the OK button.

Next, check if it fixes the problem or not.
