Biographical synthesis

Shajid Kapur is the son of actress Neelima Azeen and actor Pankaj Kapoor , he has two brothers from father and mother named Ruhan and San.

His parents divorced when he was 3 years old and he began living with his mother. He is vegetarian. He has a sister named Sana and a brother named Ishaan. In 2004 he began his relationship with Kareena Kapoor, which ended in 2007, since his breakup he has been linked with actresses such as Amrita Rao or Hrishita Bhatt.

Applied studies

His studies began at the Bharati Gyan School in Delhi until the fourth grade, where he went to Rajhans Vidyalaya, Mumbai. Before starting his acting career, Kapoor worked on various music videos and commercials, including Pepsi commercial with Shahrukh Khan , Kajol and Rani Mukerji, message from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), and the music video Aankhon tera me hello Chehra , with Hrishitaa Bhatt .

Artistic career

His first appearance in Bollywood (the cinematographic center of India, in the city of Bombay ) was made in 1999, as a dancer with Aishwarya Rai in the song “Kahiin Aag Lage Lag Jawe” in the film Taal . But his acting debut came in the 2003 film Ishq Vishk with Amrita Rao, and he won his first Filmfare Award. Since then, his best known films are: Fida (2004), Shikar (2005), 36 China Town (2006), Chup chupke (2006), Vivah (2006), Fool ‘n final (2007), Jab we met (2007) and its Tasveer projects andKismat konnection , as well as Milenge milenge .

He had commercial success with the films Vivah (2006), Jab We Met (2007), Kaminey (2009), Chance Pe Dance (2010), Badmaash Company (2010).

He continued under the direction of Ken Gosh and worked on the film Fida with Kareena Kapoor and Fardeen Khan , but this was not well considered, only the performance of this young man stood out, which already reflected his spontaneity and freshness.

In the film Vivah , he works again with Amrita Rao , in a romantic story that was considered his second best film. One of the productions that was a real success in India was the film Jab we met , along with Kareena Kapoor . A movie where they fully exploit the beauty of the Indian landscapes along with a very good plot.

He has participated in recent times in some productions such as Rani Mukherjee , Kaminey, where he played a double role and where he completely leaves this nickname of a cute and divine child with which he was always described as a good man for his previous roles. He has been seen in the long overdue Milenge Milenge and in Paathshaala , which has been a success.

In 2006, Kapoor starred in 36 China Town . Revolving around the story of seven people and a murder, the film became a moderate success despite receiving mixed reviews from critics. Shortly after the release of the film, Kapoor’s second version of the year, Priyadarshan’s comedy Chup Chup Ke followed . The film became another moderate success at the box office.

In October 2013, Kapoor has signed on to appear in Vishal Bhardwaj’s adaptation of the tragedy of William Shakespeare , Hamlet , entitled Haider , with Shraddha Kapoor and Tabu .

Personal life

During the filming of Fida (2004), he began dating Kareena Kapoor. They separated during the filming of Jab we met (2007). According to him, they stayed on good terms, saying, “I wish her all the happiness in the world. I have great respect for her. She is a wonderful girl.”

He identifies as a vegetarian and has decided to keep his personal life away from media attention, despite being repeatedly associated with various actresses, such as Vidya Balan, Priyanka Chopra and Nargis Fakhri. Kapoor uses his stepfather’s surname Khattar in his passport.
