It so happened in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds that the M16 assault rifle has always been underestimated. Indeed, the same closest relative of the M416 has all slots open for modules, and it also has full automatic fire. A gun for all occasions! Therefore, they tried to get rid of the “long / crap emka” as quickly as possible. And very much in vain. In the right hands, this rifle becomes the deadliest weapon.
History reference
The history of the emergence of the most famous American barrel has its roots in 1957, when the military leadership decided to finally replace the good old M14 carbine with an automatic rifle. In the course of the announced competition, the AR-15 design won, which was developed on the basis of the AR-10 (with NATO ammunition for a 7.62 mm caliber). To increase the accuracy and flatness of shooting, they decided to transfer the new weapon to the 5.56 mm cartridge.
However, a generally sensible thought rested on the inertia of the military, who were accustomed to their carbine. During the tests, they put sticks into the wheels in every possible way: they gave out defective cartridges, did not lubricate, attributed non-existent defects. But even with such obstacles, the future M16 showed class. Desperate to kill the project, the army team put forward an absurd requirement in advance to transfer the barrel to a 6.55 mm caliber. And then, so as not to get up twice, and on the experimental cartridge 7.21 mm. It became clear that they did not need a new assault rifle.
While the ground forces were stupid, the Air Force quickly ordered eight thousand rifles. In addition, about 20,000 AR-15s went to South Vietnam. It was hard for the local soldiers to carry the carbines made for Europeans, but the compact and accurate “emka” came in handy there. No one yet knew that the Vietnam War would be the benefit of the new weapon. Meanwhile, the bright minds in the General Staff did break through the wall of corruption and began to equip units of the special forces and paratroopers with an assault rifle.
The first time M16 was seriously lit up in the Indonesian-Malaysian conflict in 1962. When the Vietnam War flared up, thousands of mobilized American guys needed machine guns in alarming numbers. The industry was already ready and produced about eight million copies of this weapon. Enough for everyone and still remains.

Based on the characteristics, this barrel is designed for medium range shooting. It is in this range that it feels great, thanks to the flatness of 5.56mm ammunition. Cutoff burst mode is intended for close combat, but is only recommended for professionals.
Body kits
M16 in terms of installed modules is not the best candidate. If only because the tactical handle to reduce the recoil still cannot be hooked on the machine. Plus, in the latest patches, the ability to install powerful optics was removed. But even without this, the rifle has all the makings of a champion. On the trunk of the “emka” you can hang: compensator, flame arrester and silencer. Stores: enlarged, quick access and combined. Sights: collimator, holographic, from optics – from 2x to 6x. Of the recent innovations, the rifle has acquired a tactical stock and is now in no way inferior in this regard to the M416.
The top set of M16 should look like this: the barrel – a silencer or compensator, an enlarged or combined magazine, optics up to 6x – if not found, then collimators will come down.

Armor penetration and damage
Assault rifles are all-rounders in terms of affecting the mortal body. In the torso: without armor – 43 HP, a police body armor of the first level – 30.1 HP, a police vest of the second level – 25.8 HP, an army body armor – 19.3 HP. To the head: without armor – 101 HP, motorcycle helmet – 70.7 HP, military helmet – 60.6 HP, armored sphere – 45.4 HP.
As you can see, the damage is not much different from submachine guns, but the high accuracy and firing range compensates for everything, including the lower rate of fire.

Shooting
It is convenient to fire from the M16 only in single player mode. There is also burst shooting, however, this mode should only be used point-blank, since without recoil control, the barrel rigidly throws up. And not everyone knows how to hit with a three-round cutoff.
In this case, single shots are suitable for everyone. Beginners do not need to master the science of “clamping” , due to the lack of automatic shooting. Professionals can quickly target vulnerable areas and competently use the high ballistic characteristics of the weapon. After all, thanks to the stabilized ammunition, the bullets fly right on target, without setting a lead.
Despite the fact that the “emka” was taken away eightfold sights, it is still possible to conduct accurate shooting at long distances efficiently. In most cases, even a pre-installed aiming bar and front sight will be enough for this. Although, ideally, it is worth getting the most possible optics with a side collimator, to respond to close contacts of the third type.

Tactics
Although the M16 formally belongs to the assault rifle, you won’t get much trouble with it. Rather, it is an intermediate class of semi-Marxman rifles, therefore, the treatment with it should be appropriate. To begin with, it is worth deciding on the assembly from which the tactics will already flow.
If you are going to fire from afar, then you should definitely find optics, as well as a silencer, or in extreme cases, a flame arrester. In such a setup, the enemy will not be able to determine your location, which is a serious advantage on the battlefield. If your soul desires more contact mixing, then a compensator and all types of collimators will help you. Even in this form, “emka” is deadly because of its phenomenal accuracy. Better to shoot once and get hit than to land the entire horn in white light.
Choose your long range positions wisely. The lounger must be equipped in a covered and elevated area so that there is an open space in front. Hills with dense vegetation, as well as tall houses, are good for this. At the same time, it is better to lie not on the roof, but to equip the observation point on the top floor through the window shutters. So, you will be able to check the approaches with peripheral vision and, if something happens, retreat to the shelter behind the wall.
When you are nevertheless forced to go into a head-on assault, and there are no rapid-fire barrels at hand, then burst-mode “emki” in bursts will come off. Few people know, but the cutoff is even faster than the automatic modes in other ARs. I will share a little secret for beginners: as soon as the enemy figure appears from around the corner, aim it exactly at the groin. For some reason, the final shots fall right into the head. But if you are not deprived of reaction and have good control over the movement of the mouse, always aim at the head. Moreover, even with an ordinary mouse click, you can achieve a very dense fire.
Outcome
Despite its effectiveness, the barrel is very specific. Therefore, I can only recommend it to experienced players who have studied all classes of weapons and can do analytical calculations on the battlefield. As practice shows, it is important for beginners not so much to hit as to create a dense curtain of fire for self-soothingness. The M16, on the contrary, is an accurate weapon for self-confident people. Finally, we list its main pros and cons:
