MacOs like Windows has a store from which you can download many applications to extend the functionality of the terminal on which the operating system is acting. Among the multitudes of apps available, it is not always easy to grasp which are the best software or at least those that are must-haves that everyone should have installed on their device.
The MacOS Mojave Appstore in its dark version
What are the apps we should always have on hand? Which ones are essential for everyday use? And those for those who study or work?
I thought of writing this article starting from these questions, trying to show you some of the best apps for everyday life, for those who study and for those who use their Mac for work. Let’s begin?
Choose your category, click and discover the ranking :
The best apps for: everyday life – students – workers
Apps for everyday life
This category includes applications, free and not, which can always be convenient for those who use the Mac every day.
The Unarchiver
The Unarchiver is one of the best apps that everyone should have installed on their Mac, it allows you to easily manage all those compressed files such as RAR and ZIP files. Once installed you can choose the extensions to manage and unzip the files as soon as they are downloaded to the device.
The application is free and is located on the Mac Appstore, you can download it using the Download button or the QR-Code below.

MK Player
If our aim is to use an alternative player to the default one MkPlayer could be an excellent alternative. In addition to the Picture in Picture support we will also enjoy AirPlay support and in the paid version of the extension for Chrome and mirroring to some compatible TVs.
You can download MKPlayer directly from Mac AppStore, the price is free but some features are paid.

Spark
Are you looking for an alternative to Apple’s official mail client? Spark could be the perfect app for you. The features are many and some are very nice: there is the optimization of the incoming mail, the planning of the emails to be sent, the writing of emails starting from pre-configured models, the possibility to sign the emails and to see the integrated email calendar (also iCloud calendar), team work and much more.
Absolutely to try. The functions for non-professionals are all free but in any case the app does not offer internal purchases and therefore it can be considered 100% free. You can download it from the Mac Appstore.

1Blocker
You read OneBlocker and write 1Blocker. The name says it all. After installing it, you can say goodbye to web advertising. But also to website trackers, cookie notices and so on. You can manage the application through rules, find ready-made rule templates, you can customize them, create new ones or selectively enable and disable what you need.
1Blocker is paid, it costs about € 11 but in my opinion the money spent is truly truly deserved.
In any case, you can find the classic AdBlock Safari extension to download for free. Click here for AdBlock Plus .

Franz
We conclude the first circle of must-have applications with Franz, an app that unfortunately is not available on the App Store. It is a center with which we will be able to interface with our favorite messaging app. For example, we can connect Messenger, Telegram, Whatsapp, Skype and Twitch in one fell swoop to use one service or another and change it with just one click. Comfortable and useful in many contexts. Not everyone knows that it is possible to use multiple versions of the same application allowing us to use multiple Whatsapp numbers or perhaps to use a business number together with the standard version.
Franz can be downloaded for free here .
Additional features can be unlocked with the paid version from € 4 / month or € 36 / year.
Apps for Students
Bear
Bear is a useful application for anyone who wants to write or take notes quickly on their Mac. It supports Markdown formatting and allows the management of notes through hashtags.
Available for free on the Mac Appstore, the app offers paid features, such as synchronizing notes on iPhone and iPad and support for additional themes.

Ulysses
Ulysses is very similar to Bear but in my opinion less aimed at those looking for the single note in favor of real chapters of a book, a pantry or articles for a blog or for an online editorial.
Ulysses also supports markdown but handles notes in a much simpler and user-frindly way.
It is only available for a fee at a monthly price of € 5 / month or € 40 / year on the Mac Appstore but for students a full version is offered at a discounted price of € 12 for 6 months of service.
The promotion is activated when the application is downloaded by attaching an identification document to the specific screen attesting the attendance of an accredited educational institution (Universities are safe, high schools have not yet tried them).

Do you have to share a really complex research with a classmate or a classmate? With WeTransfer you can do it with absolute simplicity without going through the usual error mail caused by the attachment of mail too heavy.
The WeTransfer app for MacOs provides you with an icon in the taskbar menu where you can drag and drop what you need to share. Once the upload is complete, the app will provide you with a temporary 7-day link to send to the recipient. The maximum size in the free version? 1 gigabyte.

Trello
Widely used in the areas of Team Working, Trello is a real digital whiteboard on which to write down tasks, objectives and goals. It can also be used by a single person who may have to mark the path to follow by commenting on what has been done, done or finished by integrating everything with the external service numbers that natively interface with the application.

Unlike Trello, Slack does not make sense for the single person but is a godsend for those who work in a team. The application offers a multi-channel chat system allowing excellent management of topics and teams within a company. There are many integrable services and the potential offered has no limits. Very highly recommended to everyone.

Newton
Newton is a payment mail client (about € 50 / month) not exactly within everyone’s reach. That’s why I inserted the app here and I didn’t put Spark back. The application offers truly useful features for those who work, there is the confirmation of reading, the cancellation of an email already sent and much more.
You can download it for free to try it and then decide whether to continue with the paid version or not.

Office365 / iWork
Workers absolutely need a work suite dedicated to productivity and the management of spreadsheets, texts, presentation and emails.
Apple integrates the iWork suite on new Macs but Office365 can always be downloaded. The advice for Office lovers is to subscribe online to pay less for the service (the difference is due to the percentage that Apple withholds from the developers).
