Multiplayer bugs

You will only run into these issues when you are online or trying to connect to a server.

Connection refused: connect

  • Possible reasons

    • An attempt to check the modified server returned an invalid value.

Too long login.

  • Possible reasons

Non-premium user

Unable to check session lock, abort

  • Possible reasons
    • Active blocking of that part of the world that a third-party editor has left blocked.

    • Delete session.lock in the save world folder.

java.lang.NullPointerException

  • Possible reasons
    • This is the universal response to failure. This can be caused by many error logs. The game client crashes on launch.

    • Find the Java crash log (find a file on your desktop that looks something like this: hs_err_pid). Check there for the exact error code.
    • If you can’t identify the issue and it persists, rename the .minecraft directory to something else. Launch Minecraft again and start a new game. This will create a new .minecraft directory. If necessary, move the save worlds to the new .minecraft/saves folder.

Runtime errors

    • Increase the amount of memory allocated for java.
    • Free up memory by closing all other unused programs.
    • Reduce the number of mods using excessive computer memory.

RuntimeException: OpenGL context not found in current thread.

  • Possible reasons
    • Your graphics card or driver cannot run Mining.
  • Possible Solutions
    • Make sure your graphics driver is up to date.
    • On Linux systems, install the package containing the xrandr utility.
    • Upgrade your graphics card to a more powerful one.
