Kirstie Louise Alley ( Kansas , December as January as 1951 ), better known as Kirstie Alley is an actress , producer and screenwriter American , whose career began in the cinema during the 1980s , and has since appeared in films and television series where plays comic and dramatic roles.

She is known for playing the role of Rebecca Howe on the sitcom Cheers , which garnered positive reviews from various sources and was followed by millions of viewers around the world. He has also appeared in more than twenty films, including such blockbusters as Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan , Look Who’s Talking, and Look Who’s Talking Too . For her performances, she has been the recipient of numerous awards, including two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe .

As for her personal life, she married Robert Alley, from whom she separated in 1977, after seven years of marriage; Later, she married Parker Stevenson in 1983, with whom she was married until 1997 and with whom she adopted two children.

Biographical synthesis

Early years

He was born on January 12, 1955 in the American city of Wichita ( Kansas ). [1] She was raised there and her mother, Lillian Mickie (maiden name: Heaton), was a homemaker, while her father, Robert Deal Alley, owned a lumber company. He has two brothers, Craig and Colette. [2]

Kristie Alley attended Wichita Southeast High School, and became a cheerleader. He graduated in 1969. He would later study at the University of Kansas , where he studied theater. [1] She dropped out of school to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. [2]

Raised as a Methodist, Alley declared to have had a cocaine addiction in her youth, and says that it was through Narconon – a pharmacological treatment of the Church of Scientology – that she ended her dependence, and how she joined that sect. the 24 years (1979). [3]

After moving to Los Angeles as a follower of Scientology, she worked as an interior designer. [1] She was first seen on screen as a contestant on the television game Match Game (1979) and in Password Plus (1980). On both shows she described her occupation as an interior decorator. [2]

In 1981, a car accident caused by a drunk driver killed his mother and left his father seriously injured. [3]

In 1982, early in her career, she landed a role in the movie Star Trek, The Wrath of the Khan , playing the Vulcan Lieutenant (extraterrestrial, from Dr. Spock’s planet) Saavik. He would refuse to reinterpret this role, in the sequel Star Trek, the search for Spock due to disagreements with the producers , regarding his salary . She also didn’t want to be stereotyped as a science fiction actress. [2]

She had the role of secret agent in the television series Masquerade (1983), and in the acclaimed North and South (1985), which made her popular. [2]

In 1984 she starred in the theatrical film Blind Date , a low-budget production that, although a commercial and critical failure, became a minor cult film classic, thanks to a scene in which Alley appeared nude, in which it would be his first and last nude of his career. [2]

She rose in importance, in her role as the neurotic Rebecca Howe, in the television series Cheers (1987-1993), for which she won several awards, including the Emmy Award for “best actress in a comedy series” and the Golden Globe Award as “best actress in a television series (comedy or musical)”. [2]

Between 1983 and 1997 she was married to actor Parker Stevenson. Alley has dedicated part of her time to supporting V-Day, a global movement against violence against women. [2]

Currently, he is a member of the Church of Scientology . She has admitted to being addicted to cocaine between 1976 and 1979, at which point she joined this creed.
