IMPORTANCE OF WATER FOR THE BODY

Did you know that our body is made up of an average of 60% water (in liters, that is between 35 and 50 liters)? Such a high percentage speaks of its importance and the importance of daily hydration. The exact percentage of water depends on age, but also the proportions of muscle to fat tissue (because muscles contain more water than fat). Although water does not contain calories and nutrients, it is necessary for life.

We can live without food for weeks, but without water for only a few days. The body does not retain excess water and that is why it is important to take the appropriate amount every day, in order to maintain good health.

We lose water in several ways, in bodily processes such as sweating, breathing, urination, sneezing, when the body temperature is high, during high heat, during recreation and exercise. Part of the water, the body gets from food and the other part needs to be taken in liquid form. Remember that beverages such as coffee contain caffeine, and it dehydrates the body. Fruit juices are hydrating, but they also have a higher number of calories, so it is necessary to take care of that as well. That is why it is most ideal to drink only water.

Did you know that water reduces appetite? Therefore, the more water you drink, the less food you will need.

What else does water affect?

Water participates in the structure of cells, affects the regulation of temperature, detoxifies the body (through urine and feces), has a role in digestion, is a necessary component of many biochemical reactions, lubricates the joints, gives elasticity and moisture to the skin. Water protects your kidneys, raises energy levels and speeds up metabolism. As you age, your metabolism slows down, so you need to ingest even more water / fluids.

Hydration

By the time we feel thirsty, the body is already dehydrated . As a consequence of daily dehydration, there are various consequences that we can notice, so it can be, among other things, dry hair, skin, brittle nails, cellulite, dandruff, dry and chapped lips.

When the amount of water in the body decreases by 2%, we begin to feel tired, when it is reduced by 9%, various health problems occur.

That’s why it’s important…

In order not to forget to drink water, a bottle of water can serve as an ideal reminder. Daily hydration will serve as the simplest and most effective beauty treatment, which is especially important for members of the fairer sex.

The importance of water for our health and the general condition of the organism is truly immeasurable. That is why an adult should drink between two and three liters of fluid every day.
