How VolontApp Works

VolontApp is a mobile application designed to optimize the organization and management of activities for volunteer associations. It aims to revolutionize the way volunteering is done by simplifying the management of critical aspects of volunteer organizations. The app is user-friendly and accessible from both smartphones and tablets, making it convenient for users.

Key features of VolontApp include:

  • Intuitiveness: The app is designed to be simple and fast to use.
  • Mobile Access: Users can access the app from their smartphones and tablets.
  • Customizability: The app can be personalized to suit the specific needs of a volunteer association.
  • Versatility: It allows the management of multiple organizational aspects through a single application.
  • Innovativeness: The app brings volunteer organizations into the digital world.
  • Modularity: Users can choose and use the modules they need.

VolontApp is particularly useful for various volunteer organizations, including those involved in civil protection, fire fighting, and other similar activities. It caters to the needs of both the organizations themselves and the volunteers, offering a tool to streamline organizational tasks and turn management.

VolontApp History

A Roman team, made up of five nineteen year olds, has imagined a platform to help users donate their time: volunteers.app. The application aims to reduce the distance between voluntary associations and users, simplifying, with a few clicks, the approach process. It will be possible to book to perform voluntary actions and then automatically mark the commitment in the diary, select the most suitable association, consult a map to understand the distances between the different realities and accumulate the hours of time donated in your account.

“We have presented this project for a call, to be able to access some funds, in 60 days they will let us know if we have been taken”, says Massimiliano Rossi Mondatori, one of the creators. The call is promoted by the Lazio Region and is called ” Vitamin G ” because it wants to support the ideas of the youngest.

It is no coincidence that the team is made up of five nineteen year olds who attended the Enrico Fermi Technical Institute. “The programmers are internal to the team, they have already created the school website and archive and other games and apps that are available in the play stores and this is a great advantage”, explains Massimiliano.

The idea is to start from the volunteer realities of the metropolitan city of Rome, but also to cover, subsequently, as many territories as possible. “The app will be called volunteers.app, a very simple name – says the team – because our goal is to make it accessible to everyone, even the elderly”. Time, according to the boys, is the most precious thing we can give to someone else and for this reason they have thought of an app that can speed up and immediately realize the desire to do something for those who need it most. In Italy VolontApp already exists, it is present in the Google Play Store, but it doesn’t work. “When I had this idea I thought that there were no apps of this type, instead someone has already thought about it, especially in Europe, but what we imagine is a bit different”,

The app wants to promote the different volunteer realities making them accessible to all but also allow the country to keep up with the rest of Europe in this field, digitize a sector that has remained unchanged to the technological changes of recent years and shed light on often incomplete data. “The app will also have other features that are used to develop the sector from another point of view – continues Massimiliano – when it comes to data and wonders how many volunteers there are for example in Rome, this information is almost never updated and transparent. Creating a register of volunteers is too complex a thing while an app could simply count the members and the hours of time they put at the service of others “.

The idea has already obtained the support of three Roman municipalities and realities such as Emergency and the Community of Sant’Egidio, who have signed the call as supporters. The various associations will be able to subscribe to the app, they will have to add information, which the team will then verify, only afterwards will they be able to propose volunteer activities and share them. The five young people prepared two search interfaces: a list by type of service (canteens, children, elderly people, etc.) and then the map with the various associations in the area. “We simply want to put in contact, to bring together supply and demand – they explain – those looking for volunteers and those who have never known the realities of volunteering because they do not know where to start”.
