How to stream the xCloud app for Windows 10 now

Microsoft is internally testing Xbox Game Pass cloud games on Windows 10: here’s how you can try them now on your PC too .

How to activate and immediately use xCloud on Windows 10

As we have reported in the last few hours, Microsoft is internally testing the streaming of games in the cloud for Xbox Game Pass subscribers also on PC ; Currently this feature is only available through the Xbox Game Pass app for Android smartphones and tablets . Microsoft is working to bring xCloud – the name of the feature during the tests – also on Windows 10 and iOS , through, respectively, a new dedicated application and the web browser. Waiting for the public tests with Insider users, you can already try Game Pass cloud games on your PC or tablet with Windows 10– obviously only if you have an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription on your account. We remind you that you can activate one month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for the price of 1 € . The app also supports devices with Windows on ARM .

ATTENTION We will not be held responsible for hardware and software damage caused by this or other guides published on WindowsBlogItalia . Everything is done at your own risk and could lead, in the best case, to the loss of the data present in the device: before taking any initiative, we strongly recommend making a complete backup of apps, photos and documents.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Download the Xbox Game Streaming appfor Windows 10 PCs and tablets from the Microsoft Store by clicking on the link at the bottom of the article .
    1. If the Microsoft Store does not let you download the app, you can use the second link at the bottom of the article to download the package directly. In this case you will have to install it by double clicking on the file . APPXBUNDLE .
  2. Once installed Xbox Game Streaming (Test App), launched the‘ app .
  3. Click on the hamburger menuat the top left and select the Project xCloud item .
  4. On the screen that says Congratulationswelcome to the Project xCloud preview , click JOIN ! and, in the next screen that appears, click on Settings .
  5. Under Offer ID,type ” xgpubeta “, without quotes, and click Close .

At this point the cloud game functionality will be activated on the application .

Project xCloud on Windows 10

The graphical interface of the app is very similar to that used in the Android app , with a minimal division of cloud games. At the top are the recent games available on xCloud , then the Play Stories section – a sort of trailer for games – and finally, the complete list of all the games that can be launched on the Game Pass cloud. At the top right a search bar allows you to search for your favorite title and launch it quickly.

Once the game has been selected and clicked, after a short loading of the service, the playback of the title in the cloud will start .

An important difference compared to playing cloud games on Android smartphones is that any controller , even connected via cable , will work correctly – if the appropriate drivers are installed in the operating system. We can, in fact, confirm that xCloud on Windows 10 works both with the Xbox One controller , connected via cable , and with other third-party controllers , such as the EasySMX ESM-9110 that we recently reviewed on the blog .
