How to scan documents with iPhone via Notes

From iOS 11, the ‘ app notes of Apple , Cupertino company present on all devices, also allows you to scan documents in a truly simple. All you have to do is open the software, tap the camera icon at the bottom right and choose Scan documents from the menu that appears. At this point, use the camera of your iOS smartphone to frame the document to be scanned .

Once positioned correctly within the yellow highlighted area , press the shutter button to capture the document in question. If desired, you can change the scanning area using the four circles in the corners. Just hold down on them and place them where you want them. Once this step is done correctly, click on Save scan at the bottom right.

The Notes app also allows you to scan other documents to add to it, always using the iPhone camera . Once this is done, tap on Save at the bottom right to save the results. In case you would like to apply changes to the captured document, you will have to press on the preview on the initial screen of the software and use the three icons located at the top right to change the color, rotate the document and so on.

You can directly reach the document scanning function by making a long press on the Notes app icon located on the iOS home screen . Through the displayed menu, click on Scan document .

How to scan documents with iPhone via Genius Scan

Genius Scan is a powerful application capable of quickly scanning all personal documents and conveniently exporting them to a JPEG or PDF file. Simply place any document in front of the iDevice’s camera and Genius Scan will automatically recognize it in the background. After downloading and installing the app from the App Store , start it and press the + at the bottom left of the Documents screento access the menu.

From the latter, choose Scan  from Camera… and use the iPhone’s camera to frame the document to be scanned. Once this is done, press the shutter button to capture it. If you need to modify the file, click on the magic wand at the bottom right and use the options proposed to rotate the document left or right, change the color, change the format, crop it again and so on.

Once the changes are complete, press the X to close the menu and then proceed with saving by tapping on the share icon at the bottom right (the square containing an arrow pointing upwards). Using the Export a document window , select the desired format between JPEG or PDF , choose the preferred resolution between Current size , Large , Medium or Small and if you want, set the passwordprotection (function available only on the paid version). When finished, select the desired path on which to save the document just scanned (eg Dropbox , OneDrive or Google Drive ).
