How to save in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

Monster Hunter Stories 2 has tons of challenging battles to fight, so it’s imperative that you save your gameplay regularly. We don’t want to go through the same sections five or ten times, right? Surprisingly, many online players have difficulty saving their game in Monster Hunter Stories 2.

In today’s article, we’ll show you how to save your progress in Monster Hunter Stories 2 and how the save system works in this game.

Save Monster Hunter Stories 2

In Monster Hunter Stories 2, you can save your gameplay using checkpoints, i.e. automatically or manually. Let’s walk through each of the save methods.

Auto save game

Monster Hunter Stories 2 has an auto-save feature. It is activated whenever you move to a new location, mark a checkpoint, or reach a certain point during the passage of the storyline. When the game is auto-saved, the corresponding icon will appear in the lower left corner of the screen.

Saving the game manually

In Monster Hunter Stories 2, the player can save their gameplay manually, and not in one, but in two ways. The first way is to interact with the bed in the Mahana village. The hero will go to bed and a save menu will appear in front of you. Note: By manually saving, you overwrite the last autosave, so be careful.

The second way to manually save can be accessed through the Catavans, who are known in the Monster Hunter world for their fast movement ability. Having opened the Katavan ability (which happens literally at the very beginning of the game), you will find special Katavan points on the game map. All you have to do is head to one of these points and click on the save button.

Unfortunately, the classic manual saving, i.e. via the pause menu, Monster Hunter Stories 2 does not.
