Before following the tutorial below, make sure that your Xiaomi cellphone is using MIUI, because in this tutorial we will use the MIUI default screen recorder feature.
Is there a Xiaomi cellphone that doesn’t use MIUI ?
There are some HPs produced by Xiaomi that use Android One instead of MIUI , for example the Xiaomi Mi A1, Mi A2, and Mi A3.

Okay, right away. If you’re sure you’re using MIUI, follow this tutorial:
- First, open the app named “Record Screen”. This application icon is orange with a video camera image in the middle. This is a default application in MIUI.
- In this application, touch the orange record button which is on the bottom right.
- Then you will enter the Xiaomi HP home screen . Complete with a record button at the bottom. To start recording the screen, touch the “Start”button at the bottom of the screen.

- After you have finished recording the screen, you can now see the recording in the “Record Screen”application . Touch the video thumbnail to play it.

Second Way: Using Apps
As I said at the beginning of the article that not all Xiaomi cellphones use MIUI, therefore the tutorial above cannot be done on all Xiaomi cellphones.
But don’t worry, there is another way that you can do to record the screen on your cellphone, namely by using a third-party application.
This method can also be done for those of you who use a Xiaomi cellphone with MIUI but are not satisfied with the default screen recording feature.
Following are the steps:
- Go to Google Play Store then search for an app called “AZ Screen Recorder” and download the app;
- Once the download is complete, open the AZ Screen Recorder app and tap the “Record” button to start recording the screen;
- Please do all the activities on your Xiaomi cellphone that you want to record, when it’s finished tap the “Stop” button;
- You can check the screen recording results in the AZ Screen Recorder application or in the gallery.
