How to receive calls from your computer

When performing tasks on your PC , such as studying or working, you may want to get all the necessary work done with a single device  to maximize productivity. In this sense, Microsoft has introduced a really interesting feature in Windows 10, which also allows you to  make and receive calls on your PC .

This feature, called Mobile Link , allows you to connect an  Android  smartphone (to manage mobile device notifications, view photos, make and receive calls) or an iPhone  (to share connections between mobile device and computer).

What do you need?

Like all features, this one also needs some requirements  to meet. First, to take advantage of the feature, you must have at least a Windows 10 computer or laptop on board.

As for the smartphone, the latter must have an Android 7 or higher operating system . Finally, to make or receive calls with Windows 10, you will need to install the Mobile Link app  on both your smartphone and  PC .

How to make or receive calls on the computer

Once you have seen what the necessary requirements are to use the service, we can move on to the actual procedure to follow to make or receive calls on PC.

  • Download and install the Link to Windowsapp  on your Android smartphone.
  • Run the appand sign in with your Microsoft account details.
  • Next,  grant the necessary permissionsto use the application correctly (access to contacts, phone calls and multimedia content and to run in the background).

At this point, you will have to go to the PC to follow these steps:

  • Install the Mobile Linkapplication on your PC.
  • Run the appand verify that a notification  arrives on your smartphone to allow the connection (the notification will arrive on the smartphone only if the same Microsoft account is present on both devices).
  • Choose the  operating systemof your smartphone (in this case  Android ).

In the event that the notification does not arrive  automatically :

  • Check the item Companion application is ready.
  • Choose whether you want to pair your smartphone via a QR codeor
  • Follow the instructions on the screen.

Once you have made the connection between your Android smartphone and your Windows 10 PC, you will have to connect them via  bluetooth  to receive and make calls:

  • Within the Mobile Link app on your PC, click the Callsitem on the left.
  • Continue on
  • You will once again receive a  notification on your Android smartphone and you will have to accept the connection request.
  • Click the item Yes also on the PC to complete the pairing with the smartphone.
