What methods can I use to back up my drivers?

When formatting, it is necessary to back up the drivers accordingly. Thanks to this,  they will be stored correctly so that you can reinstall them in the future. We assure you that every little detail will continue to be there because any of these options has optimal performance. If you follow the advice that we will indicate immediately, you will succeed in the process.

Using DISM.exe

If you have Windows 10 and you are going to protect the most relevant data on your computer , you have to use the DISM.exe command line. It is a tool with extensive functions that serve optimally when exporting your drivers. At the same time, it works great for maintaining deployment images that could even be repaired if a major problem arises on your computer.

So the first thing to do is open the command prompt and type the following command: dism /online /export-driver /destination:C:\MyDrivers. Then, you are going to create a folder manually with the command C:\MyControllers that will serve as a copy.

In any case, it is valid to appeal for a USB device with a large memory that works in a similar way as a C drive would. Select the method that you consider most appropriate and then press Enter and the saving process will start in The folders. On the screen you will see the loading line so that you are aware of the progress of the files.

In the PowerShell section

Backing up important items on your computer has never been easier than with PowerShell . If you have Windows 10, you can save the drivers with this tool and you will be a few steps away from preventing risks that affect the security of your files.

As you can see, PowerShell is another versatile alternative that will help you generate a copy of your drivers whenever you need it. The main thing is that you start it from the administrator by pressing the WIN + X shortcut and entering the syntax Export-WindowsDriver -Online –Destination so that the save path is created.

As soon as we press the Enter key,  the drivers are exported to the indicated site and the system shows you the sequence. It is important to recommend that the backup was done properly. You just have to go to the selected disk drive and you will notice that the PowerShell files appear .

Using the CMD command line

By using the command prompt in Windows 10, your data will be safe in case of failures or errors  when deploying updates. Consequently, you must boot as administrator and run the ‘diskpart’ command. Now, you are going to write the syntax: wbadmin start backup -backuptarget: ‘Volume letter’ -include:C: -allCritical.

As a next step, you have to press Enter and confirm the procedure through the S key . Immediately, the backup will begin to take place and you will be able to see the percentage on the screen. Finally, it remains for you to go to the path where it was saved and make sure that all the details are correct.

How to restore drivers on my PC using Device Manager?

Restoring drivers is easier than it seems. Therefore, you should go to the system search box and type  ‘Device Manager’ , as soon as it appears click on its box.

Next, you will look for the option that says Uninstall, click on it to start the process of restarting your computer. You will notice that the system restores the drivers in a matter of a couple of minutes.

It should be noted that when uninstalling a driver from the device manager, it must also be removed from the system. Otherwise, when the device restarts , the same version will still appear on the screen . Therefore, we advise you to disable it and re-enable it manually if necessary.

In the scenario that you want to restore a specific program, you are going to enter the device manager again. Once there, a list of drivers will appear, so choose the one you want to restore. Now, you will right click with the mouse and in the options menu you will have to appeal for the one that says Update driver software.

On the other hand, the system may ask you which driver you want to restore, so click on the Browse my computer tab. When the options are displayed, locate the one that interests you and confirm with Enter. At the end, you will see the backup path and you only have to click next for the restoration to be carried out successfully.
